Not all lasers are created equal. ⚡

At Preston Chiropractic & Natural Health, we use Erchonia® low-level laser technology — professional laser systems with FDA 510(k) clearances for specific clinical applications.

Cold laser therapy uses specific wavelengths of light to interact with the body at the cellular level. This process can help support mitochondrial activity and ATP production, providing cells with energy needed for normal function and recovery.

Laser therapy may help support:

⚡ Mitochondrial activity & cellular energy
🩸 Healthy blood flow
🔄 Tissue recovery and healing
🔥 A healthy inflammatory response

We commonly use laser therapy alongside chiropractic care for areas such as the neck, shoulders, knees, elbows, feet/ankles, and other musculoskeletal complaints.

Laser Therapy Options:

🔹 Short laser session with your adjustment — $10
🔹 Extended laser session — $30

We wanted to make this technology accessible enough that patients can actually use it when it may benefit their care — without turning it into an expensive add-on.

Already coming in for an adjustment? Ask us if Erchonia laser therapy may be a good addition to your visit.

New to our office? Send us a message or give us a call to learn more.

🧪 Toxin Free Friday: Cookware & Cutting Boards

We spend a lot of time thinking about what we eat—but what we cook and prepare our food on matters too.

Some common kitchen products can expose food to unwanted materials, especially when they’re scratched, overheated, or heavily worn.

🍳 Cookware to reconsider:
• Older or damaged non-stick pans
• Cookware with scratched or peeling coatings
• Low-quality cookware with unknown coatings

✅ Better alternatives:
• Stainless steel
• Cast iron
• Carbon steel
• High-quality ceramic cookware

🔪 What about cutting boards?

Plastic cutting boards can become heavily scratched over time and may shed tiny plastic particles into food during chopping and food preparation.

✅ Alternatives to consider:
• Glass cutting boards
• Marble cutting boards
• Solid hardwood cutting boards
• Bamboo boards

Glass and marble are non-porous, easy to clean, and don’t shed plastic particles into your food. Keep in mind that harder surfaces like glass and marble can be tougher on your knives, so some people choose wood for everyday chopping and glass or marble for other food-prep tasks.

You don’t have to replace everything in your kitchen overnight. Start with the items you use the most—especially scratched non-stick cookware and heavily worn plastic cutting boards.

Small swaps can help reduce unnecessary exposures and make your kitchen a little cleaner. 🌿

🌿 Toxin-Free Friday: Let’s Talk About Seed Oils

Not all fats are created equal.

Many processed foods are made with seed oils like soybean, corn, cottonseed, sunflower, and canola oil. While these oils can be part of the diet, they’re also a major source of omega-6 fatty acids. Most people today consume far more omega-6 than omega-3, creating an imbalance that some researchers believe may contribute to chronic inflammation and other health concerns.

One simple way to improve your diet is to focus on whole, minimally processed foods and choose cooking fats that fit your needs, such as:
🥑 Avocado oil
🫒 Extra virgin olive oil
🥥 Coconut oil (especially for higher-heat cooking)

Remember, health isn’t about perfection—it’s about making small, consistent choices that add up over time.

Watch today’s video to learn more about the omega-6 to omega-3 ratio and some easy swaps you can make in your own kitchen!

🌿 Toxin Free Friday: Air Fresheners 🌿

We all want our homes and workplaces to smell fresh—but have you ever stopped to think about what may be creating that scent?

Many traditional sprays, plug-ins and heavily fragranced products can add unnecessary chemicals to the air we breathe. Instead of constantly covering up odors, start by addressing the source, improving ventilation and choosing fragrance products more intentionally.

At our office, we use options like Pura, which allows us to control the strength of the scent and schedule when it runs. While no fragranced product is completely exposure-free, choosing products with better ingredient standards and using less of them can be a meaningful step in reducing your household’s overall chemical load.

A few simple alternatives include:

🌿 Opening windows whenever possible
🌿 Using an air purifier
🌿 Cleaning the source of unwanted odors
🌿 Choosing fragrance-free products
🌿 Using lower-intensity, thoughtfully formulated scents

Remember: a truly fresh space doesn’t need to be overwhelmed with fragrance. Sometimes, less really is more.

🦷 Toxin-Free Friday: Choosing a Cleaner Toothpaste

Toothpaste is something most of us use twice a day, every day—so it’s worth taking a closer look at what’s inside the tube.

Fluoride has a recognized benefit for strengthening tooth enamel and helping prevent cavities. However, fluoride exposure isn’t only about our teeth. When fluoride is ingested and absorbed systemically, research suggests that higher exposure may interfere with thyroid function and alter thyroid hormone levels—particularly when iodine levels are inadequate.

The evidence regarding lower levels of exposure is still mixed, but this is one reason some families choose to reduce their overall fluoride exposure or use fluoride-free toothpaste

When choosing a cleaner toothpaste, you may also consider avoiding:

• Artificial dyes and sweeteners
• Sodium lauryl sulfate, especially if it causes irritation
• Unnecessary synthetic flavors
• Other ingredients that irritate your mouth or gums

A cleaner toothpaste doesn’t have to be complicated. Look for a transparent ingredient list and choose an option that fits your family’s dental needs, cavity risk and health priorities.

The goal isn’t fear—it’s becoming more informed about products we use every day.

What toothpaste does your family currently use? 🪥👇
