And last week proved exactly that!

Last Wednesday, I had the honor of partnering with my Line Sister, Soror, boss friend, and collaborator Dr. Tori Ellis to co-create the Vitamin “C” Confidence & Mindfulness Youth Summit in Yonkers, NY!

Together — alongside two other DOPE Boss Babes — .cole and we poured into over 100 incredible high school girls in grades 9–12 and showed them what it truly means to Walk Into Their Confidence!

She didn’t know it yet…
but this little girl would grow up being told she was too much.

Too loud.
Too bold.
Too big.

She’d be asked to shrink.
To quiet her voice.
To take up less space.

But what nobody knew then was this:
God was already building something BIG in her.

My healing.
My reminder that I was never meant to shrink to make others comfortable.

I’m sitting in my car and it still feels like this is all a bad dream that I can’t wake up from!

So many memories! So manny moments! So many laughs, tears and even arguments (well I argued-you kept your ground)!

So many moments where I wanted to quit but you always said “You can do it! You got this!!” You taught me how to LEAD by demanding that I learn how to follow!

You stressed education! You MADE me go back to school! You prayed over my relationship that’s now a marriage! You taught me what righteous indignation truly is and was! I’ll never forget the day that you came to the picket line (picture 3) when we were on strike with Verizon! You pulled me to the side, gave me “lunch money” and said “Okay! It’s time to go back to school!” And I did!

You prayed over my womb when they said that we’d never be parents! You married me! You blessed our miracles!

You baptized our daughters!
You told the corniest jokes at the most inappropriate times!

You fed my spirit! And showed me that preaching the gospel doesn’t look one way!

I don’t know my adult life without you! I don’t know this gospel without you! But THIS I KNOW….So much of the better version of me…..I owe to you! I’m a better wife, mother, daughter and leader because of you!
