PA for POTS Awareness Our mission is to raise awareness of a form of dysautonomia known as Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS). What is POTS?

Our goal is to educate the community about this often misdiagnosed and poorly understood condition as well as it’s co-morbidities. Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS) is a condition caused by a malfunction of the autonomic nervous system. The autonomic nervous system controls the unconscious body functions such as heart rate, blood pressure, and digestion. A person with POTS experienc

es a significant increase in heart rate upon standing. POTS is a complicated condition that can cause a large list of symptoms, has a multitude of causes, is difficult to diagnose, even harder to treat, and relatively unknown even in the medical community.
