Wellness isn't only about medicine or hormone therapy. Those are powerful tools — but so much of feeling good comes from the small, everyday things that help your body regulate itself.

None of these have to be big or complicated. Start with one:

🌅 Morning light — step outside early to help set your internal clock
🍳 Protein with breakfast — steady energy instead of a mid-morning crash
🚶‍♀️ Movement that feels good — a walk counts
💧 Hydrate early — before the coffee, if you can
🌙 A real wind-down before bed

Small shifts, real difference. Swipe through and pick the one you'll start with. 🌿

Sometimes your body sends signals long before you think to listen.

Maybe it's energy that never quite recovers. Sleep that leaves you just as tired. Mood swings that feel out of your control, or a sense that you're just not quite yourself lately.

It's easy to write these off as stress, or aging, or "just life." But familiar doesn't mean normal — and often, these are your body's way of asking for support.

Swipe through for a few signs it might be time to check in with your hormones. And when you're ready to dig deeper, we're here. 🌿

Trigger Warning‼️

A woman reached out to me today and asked whether suicidal ideation, emotional numbness, depression, and anxiety can be connected to perimenopause and menopause.

The answer is yes. Hormonal changes during this transition can significantly affect mood, leaving some women feeling anxious, disconnected, hopeless, or simply unlike themselves. Hormone therapy may provide relief for some women when it is medically appropriate, but mental health symptoms—especially suicidal thoughts—should never be dismissed as “just hormones” or something you have to endure.

There is hope, and help is available. If these feelings are new, worsening, interfering with daily life, or making it difficult to feel safe, please reach out to both a mental health professional and your medical provider. Support may include therapy, a medical evaluation, medication, hormone therapy, or a combination of treatments.

If you are having suicidal thoughts, have developed a plan, or do not feel that you can keep yourself safe, please do not stay alone:

• Call or text 988 for the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline
• Call the Mental Health Association of Frederick County’s 24-hour hotline at 301-662-2255
• Visit the 24/7 Walk-In Crisis Care Center at 340 Montevue Lane, Frederick, MD 21702—no appointment is necessary, and services are available at no cost
• If you are in immediate danger, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department

You do not have to wait until things feel unbearable to ask for help. You are not a burden, you are not alone, and you deserve support

Save this one for later. 🌙
Here’s the thing about wellness: it isn’t only about medicine or hormone therapy. Those are powerful tools — but real balance also comes from how you live day to day. The small habits that tell your body it’s safe to rest, reset, and regulate itself.
A simple wind-down routine is one of the easiest places to start: 🌿 Dim the lights an hour before bed 📵 Put the phone away 🛁 Warm shower or bath 📖 Stretch, journal, or breathe ❄️ Keep your room cool and dark
Give it a few nights and notice how your body responds. Small shifts, real difference.

When was the last time you actually checked in with yourself?

Not a full to-do list, not a fix-everything plan — just a quiet moment to notice how you're really doing. So much of wellness starts here, with simply paying attention to what your body's been trying to tell you.

Here's a simple one you can come back to anytime:

🌿 How did I sleep?
🌿 Where am I holding tension?
🌿 What's my energy like right now?
🌿 Have I eaten and hydrated today?
🌿 What is my body asking for?

What did you notice from your check in? You don’t have to have all the answers, but maybe we can help. Let us know in the comments (or DM us) some observations you had and we can give you tips to add to your routine that might help.
Save this one and come back to it whenever you need a reset.

Did you know that hours of scrolling — aka doomscrolling — can actually spike your cortisol levels?

Cortisol is your body's main stress hormone, and when it stays elevated, it's been linked to increased anxiety and trouble sleeping. So if you're scrolling late into the night and then lying awake wondering why you can't fall asleep… your phone might be part of the story.

Try this: put the phone away for the last hour before bed and see if you notice a difference. Your nervous system will thank you. 🌿
