🥊 EVERY GREAT GYM HAS A HEARTBEAT… AND OURS IS COLLEEN. ❤️

Meet Colleen, our Director of Community Outreach and Education, here with one of our amazing clients, Ken.

And while Ken doesn’t have Parkinson’s, he is a part of our Parkinson’s Boxing family. Ken suffered a stroke that affected the left side of his body. When he first came to us less than a year ago, he needed a walker and two coaches to work with him.

Today? Ken can walk laps around our gym with just one coach and very little assistance. 🥊❤️

That kind of progress is exactly why we do what we do. It’s not always about how far you have to go—it’s about celebrating how far you’ve come.

Colleen has been with Parkinson’s Boxing since almost the very beginning. If you ask anyone about Colleen, they’ll tell you what a wonderful person she is and what an incredible part of our Parkinson’s Boxing family.

And let’s be honest… she’s not just a pretty face! 😉❤️

On any given day, you might find Colleen doing new client evaluations, coaching out in the gym, answering the phones, running our Support Group, or simply spending quality time with our clients.

And honestly? Sometimes, simply being there is the most important thing she does.

Her sense of humor, genuine kindness, and honest sincerity are qualities you don’t find in just anyone. Our coaches know that if they ever have an issue—whether it’s related to Parkinson’s Boxing or just everyday life—Colleen will listen, talk them through it, and give them her honest opinion.

Colleen cares endlessly about every person who walks through our doors—clients and coaches alike. She has a way of making people feel heard, supported, and cared for.

And Ken’s journey is just one example of what can happen when someone is given the right support, encouragement, and a team that believes in them. Colleen will celebrate every step, every lap, and every little victory with you. ❤️

That’s what makes Colleen so special. She doesn’t just work here. She shows up for people. Every single day.

🐾🚨 MEET OUR UNOFFICIAL SECURITY TEAM! 🚨🐾

Every great office needs security… and Parkinson’s Boxing has TWO of the best! 🐶🐶

They may not be certified therapy dogs, but our furry security guards have an important job: keeping an eye on things, greeting everyone who walks through the door, and providing plenty of tail wags and puppy love. ❤️

Sometimes, taking a few minutes to stop and pet a dog can help reduce stress, bring comfort, brighten your mood, and give you a much needed moment to relax.

And let’s be honest… it’s pretty hard to have a bad day when you have a happy pup looking up at you! 🐾

They don’t carry badges.
They don’t carry radios.
They probably wouldn’t pass a security training course.

But they take their job VERY seriously.

Our security team is always on duty — protecting the office from stress, bad moods, and unauthorized belly rubs! 🐶

🧠 Parkinson's Facts Friday 🥊

Parkinson's disease can begin 10–20 years before the classic movement symptoms, like tremors, ever appear.

Early signs often include a loss of smell, constipation, sleep disturbances, anxiety, or depression, symptoms that are often overlooked or attributed to something else.

The more we know about Parkinson's disease, the sooner people can seek evaluation, begin treatment, and make lifestyle changes that can improve their quality of life.

Knowledge is power. Help us spread awareness by sharing this post—you never know who might benefit from learning these early warning signs.
