As a young child I remember being fascinated with art, creating, spirits, and all things mysterious, magical and mystical. Having an extremely vivid imagination, I would often prefer reading books to movies because my version was always better. There was one inst
ance where my mother walked into my room and heard me talking to myself, horrified, as if I was schizophrenic or something. I told her I was acting out conversations for a story that I was writing, putting her at ease. However, now, I am not entirely sure it wasn’t spirit I was talking to. As I grew older, I followed the “societally approved” path of Graphic Design for 25 years. Today, I have come to appreciate the complex composition of elements and how they emote emotion of the viewer. And yet, my true love is and always will be the arts and creating. It wasn’t until much later that I found myself on a journey of exploration- artistically and spiritually. Que in more self directed art, healing, yoga, herbs, crystals, essential oils, spirits (the non alcoholic kind) and all things mystical, magical and mysterious. I made a promise to myself to live authentically regardless of society and expectations. Finding myself to be a mixed media artist, I began playing with different mediums and elements in my work. It wasn’t until I got so frustrated by the deaths of multiple bonsai trees, that I decided to create one that would never die. Trees became my passion- Trees of Life, Zen Gardens, Sun Catchers... that fire started taking on a life of its own. And yet, I never realized how therapeutic it all was until I had a Thalamic Stroke in 2021, turning my entire world upside down. Life had changed completely. The universe was saying, “It is time to do something different.”
I dove into the waters of uncertainty head first and began to do more- earning my certifications in Reiki 1 and 2- eventually becoming a Master, researching creative therapy, the power of crystals, herbs, essential oils and sound healing. Absorbing information and practices like a sponge, they were the sustenance that I needed to survive and to create a true “Zen Life.”
Expanding outside of myself, I started sharing what I learned with others. Through hand made art, Reiki infused jewelry and apparel, workshops for creative healing, safe spaces to receive Reiki healing energy, as well as crystal and sound healing.
