Women often put the needs of others first, caring for children, partners, parents and friends.

This Women’s Health Month, we’re encouraging caregivers to take time for themselves as well.

Your health is important. Prioritizing your own well‑being supports your ability to care for others. Even small steps toward self‑care can make a meaningful difference.

During National Healthcare Workers Appreciation Week, we recognize the professionals whose work supports the health of our entire community.

Across clinical and non‑clinical roles, healthcare workers advance prevention, early intervention, and coordinated care — all essential to improving population health. Their commitment helps reduce disparities, expand access, and ensure that individuals and families receive the care they need to thrive.

We are grateful for the healthcare workforce and the difference they make every day.

May is High Blood Pressure Awareness Month, and it’s a great time to know your numbers. High blood pressure often has no symptoms, but it can increase the risk of heart disease and stroke.

A quick check with your primary care provider can help you stay on top of your health. If your numbers are high, your P*P can work with you on simple steps to bring them down, from lifestyle changes to medication if needed.

Your heart works hard for you every day. This month, consider taking small steps that support long-term heart health, such as:

❤️ Adding a short walk to your routine
❤️ Choosing heart-healthy foods
❤️ Checking in with your P*P about your blood pressure and cholesterol.

You don’t need big changes to make a big impact. Consistency matters more than perfection.

At GLIN IPA, we recognize nurses as steady hands, trusted guides, and compassionate advocates who help patients navigate moments of uncertainty with dignity and confidence.

Nurses play a vital role on the GLIN IPA team and every care team across our network. They support providers, reassure patients, and bring humanity to moments that matter most. During Nurses Week, we’re proud to celebrate the people who make high‑quality, compassionate care possible every single day.

Thank you to every nurse in our community for the skill, heart, and dedication you bring to this work.

Women’s Health Month is a powerful reminder that preventive screenings save lives.

From mammograms and cervical cancer screenings to blood pressure checks and routine labs, these appointments help catch concerns early, when they're most treatable.

If it’s been a while since your last screening, this is a good time to reconnect with your care team. Your provider can help you understand which tests are right for you based on your age, history, and health goals. Don’t have one? Call GLIN IPA at 716.800.CARE (2273) to connect with a primary care provider.

Life gets busy, and telehealth can help you stay on top of your health without disrupting your day.

Many primary care practices offer virtual visits for:
• Medication follow‑ups
• Minor concerns
• Reviewing test results
• Chronic condition check‑ins

Ask your P*P’s office if telehealth is an option for your next appointment.
