Today, self care looks pretty simple for me.

🪴🌀I spent time watering the garden and admiring the new flowers and connecting my spirit.

🍓I made a healthy breakfast and celebrated this moon

🧘🏽‍♀️Later I’ll slow flow, celebrate my cousin’s grand opening , and spend time with those who love me most.

TLDR: Willpower isn’t as effective as we think. If it was, everyone would be in perfect physical condition.

“If we all understand that physical activity is good for us, then why does the data still look like this?”

Hint: it has to do with motivation but not in the way you might thing.

Research has uncovered that people commonly exercise for things like weight loss and/or better health. It has also uncovered that these reasons are linked to the lowest levels of activity!

So what’s up with that? Well, it actually might have more to do with your meaning for exercise (which is developed in unconsciously from your previous experiences). Happy FFT Friday! Tomorrow is Earth Day. It is a time to check in and reflect on our relationship with the planet and take action to protect it. One way we can do this is by making sustainable food choices.

Here are five tips to help you get started.

🥗Eat more plant-based meals: Plant-based diets have been shown to be more sustainable than meat-based diets, as they require fewer resources to produce. The bonus is you don’t have to do it 100% of the time to make an impact.

👩🏽‍🌾 Shop locally and seasonally: Buying food that's in season and grown locally can reduce the environmental impact of transportation and support local farmers. We have many farmers markets, like , in our metro!

♻️Reduce food waste: Try to use up all the food you buy and avoid throwing away edible food. You can also compost food scraps to reduce methane emissions in landfills. Guess what? has partnered with so many great organizations like, and the , to bring us some amazing educational resources and events.

🚫🥤Choose sustainable packaging: Look for products that use eco-friendly packaging, such as biodegradable or recyclable materials. Too big of an ask? That’s ok, start small by using reusable plastic alternatives.

💦Be mindful of water use: Water is life, so try to conserve it by not wasting water when cooking ocleaning up.
