🧬 DID YOU KNOW? 🤔
Many people are surprised when two dark-skinned parents have a much lighter-skinned child. Some immediately start asking questions, but science has an answer.
Skin color is controlled by multiple genes passed down through generations. Parents can carry genes for lighter skin inherited from grandparents, great-grandparents, or even more distant ancestors. Sometimes those genes combine in a child and become visible again.
There are also genetic conditions such as albinism that can result in a child having very light skin despite having dark-skinned parents.
The lesson? 👇
Never judge family relationships based on skin color alone. Genetics is far more complex and fascinating than most people realize.
Science explains what rumors cannot.
Have you ever seen a family where the children have very different skin tones from their parents or siblings?
