Just a gentle reminder that our Walk & Talk is coming up this Saturday! ✨

If your week has felt heavy, busy, or just a little off… this is your moment to reset. No pressure, no expectations… just fresh air, good conversation, and a space where you can show up exactly as you are.

We’ll be walking, talking, laughing, maybe venting a little (okay… probably 😌), and just pouring back into ourselves and each other.

Bring a friend, bring your kids, or come solo and leave with new connections. That’s kind of our thing.

You don’t have to have it all together to come… honestly, that’s the best time to.

No matter anyone's opinion, everyone deserves a 2nd chance. People don't just wake up one day a mess, an addict that is existing in a living nightmare that affects everyone around them. Addiction can happen to ANYONE of any social class. It could happen to your siblings, your parents, your childhood friend, even your own children.

Mental illness & addiction go hand & hand. A high percentage of addicts self medicate because they've never gotten proper support for trauma or underlying mental health issues. Then, of course we've all heard the stories of people who were never addicts, but ended up with a prescription that they became addicted to/physically dependant on & often times weren't properly weaned off the medication by professionals. (I.e. "The Opioid Crisis", over prescribing, pulling narcotic meds with minimal instructions/guidance, etc.) Not everyone who ends up being an addict just starts out making a "bad choice", it is very multifaceted.

Even so, hard drugs are very powerful & can make even the strongest person bend the knee & break. How many of you have seen addiction ravage someone who had so much going for them before it takes hold? These drugs are no joke, they completely change a person's brain chemistry to where they can become a shell of their former selves.

Recovery IS possible for ANYONE - but, NOT if the person dies. Everyone should be encouraged to have an emergency 1st Aid Kit in their vehicles, a maybe a rudimentary one in their handbags/on their person. If you don't, please consider getting one & adding FREE Narcan/Naloxone to it. This website allows anyone in Ohio to do so for FREE.

It is very helpful for anyone to have these items on hand for an emergency. Probably the most effective for anyone would be the Naloxone Nasal Spray. We ordered the Fentanyl kit & the nasal spray.

You never know, you could be a part of someone's 2nd chance in life by saving it! Every act of kindness counts!

To our Lue Haven community 💛

After a lot of reflection, conversation, and careful consideration, we have decided to cancel the upcoming Lue Haven TALENT SHOW.

We know many of you were excited to attend, participate, sponsor, volunteer, and celebrate together. Please know this decision was not made lightly. We are deeply sorry for the disappointment this may bring.

Over the past several weeks, our organization has found itself standing closer and closer to people experiencing real crises. Families facing homelessness. Individuals experiencing mental health emergencies. Survivors navigating domestic violence. Parents struggling with food insecurity. Community members trying to access psychiatric care while battling barriers that should never exist in the first place. And we realized our focus needs to shift.

While community events bring joy, connection, and healing in their own beautiful way, we feel called to put more of our energy into building emergency support for people in urgent situations. You have trusted us with your stories, your struggles, your children, your grief, your hope, and your healing. That trust means everything to us. We want to honor it by strengthening our ability to respond when someone truly needs help.

Moving forward, we will still host events because community connection matters deeply to us. But we are intentionally simplifying our event planning. Instead of using sponsorship primarily for large venues, entertainment, and vendor expenses, we want those resources to build long-term emergency savings specifically designated for crisis intervention, prevention, and support.

Lue Haven is committed to fighting the barriers that exist within healthcare and social service systems. We never want to find ourselves unable to help someone simply because we lack the financial cushion to do so.

We are trying to build something sustainable. Something dependable. A safety net with strong enough hands to catch people when life suddenly collapses beneath them.

Thank you for continuing to believe in us as we grow, learn, and evolve. Thank you for giving us the space to pivot toward what we believe our community needs most right now.

If you or someone you love could use a safe space to talk, process, or just breathe a little easier, this is here for you.
