Nobody tells you that ā€œpost-opā€ and ā€œstill wants the ch*****ne toast on the girls’ tripā€ can exist in the same sentence.

You didn’t have surgery to become a different kind of restricted. You had it to get your life back: the trip, the dress, the photo you don’t flinch at.

If you’ve ever felt like you had to choose between ā€œdoing it rightā€ and actually living, comment below or send this to the friend who needs to hear it too.

You optimized the plan. You hit the macros. And somehow pride never made it onto the tracker.

That’s not a nutrition gap. That’s the mindset gap nobody preps you for before surgery and it’s the whole reason your fear of regain creeps back in.

If this is you, comment DANCE and I’ll send you the link to my FREE masterclass training (it’s live with me)!

7 Rules That I ā€œStoleā€ From Women Who Had WLS & NEVER Regained:

1ļøāƒ£ Never eat from the package: you need to put every meal, every snack on a plate so you can SEE your portion size!

2ļøāƒ£ Don’t fall into diet traps like ā€œsavingā€ calories. Skipping meals or protein snacks will make you hangry and show up to the pantry starving.

3ļøāƒ£ When a meal leaves you feeling less than amazing (you ate one too many bites, didn’t get enough protein, etc), make sure it stays only one meal. Go back to your normal at the next meal.

4ļøāƒ£ Your cravings aren’t real hunger most of the time. Give them 20 minutes before deciding what you want.

5ļøāƒ£ You don’t have to follow the social norms of eating just because everyone else is. Are you actually hungry?

6ļøāƒ£ Leave those extra bites behind when you’re full!

7ļøāƒ£ Your pouch is your FRIEND. Don’t take big or extra bites just to see if they fit.

These aren’t hacks. They’re what it looks like when the mindset work is actually done, when you trust your tools instead of white-knuckling every single meal.

If you’re doing all 7 of these and still feel like you’re one bad week away from spiraling, the rules were never the missing piece. The identity underneath them was.

That’s exactly what I walk you through in my free masterclass, live through 9/18, and it’s the front door into The Coronation, my group coaching program for women who are done just maintaining and ready to actually trust themselves again.

Last week I walked into my classroom for the last time.

I packed up 16 years. Bulletin boards I’d decorated a hundred times. Books I’d taught every semester. The little things that made that room mine.

And I said goodbye.

Not because I stopped loving it. Not because the kids didn’t matter. They changed my life and I mean that.

But something called me somewhere else. Something I couldn’t keep putting off.

Today is the first September in 16 years where I’m not standing in front of students.

And I’m still teaching.

My classroom just looks different now. No desks. No bell schedule. No lesson plan.

Just women, post-bariatric women who changed their bodies and never got a plan for their minds. Women who did everything right and still don’t feel the way they thought they would.

That’s who I show up for now.

If that’s you, I’m running a free masterclass this week. It’s the class I wish someone had taught me a long time ago.

This isn’t a before and after photo.

It’s a before and after PEACE. No food noise. No math before a meal. No performance, just actually being in the moment.

Nobody asked, but here are 3 things I’d never tell a client who’s 6 months out from surgery:

1. ā€œJust keep doing what you’re doing.ā€ Maintenance isn’t loss on autopilot; it takes a different identity than the one that got you here.

2. ā€œYou should be so happy now.ā€ A smaller body doesn’t automatically come with a settled mind. The mindset gap is real, and it’s the part nobody preps you for before surgery.

3. ā€œYou just need more willpower.ā€ Willpower was never the missing piece. You were never taught how to rebuild an identity, just how to shrink a body.

This is the exact reason I left 16 years of teaching for this work. Follow along if you want the mindset side of this journey, not just the meal plan side.

Seven years post-op, and here's the thing I still say the most:

A stall is not your body betraying you. It's not proof it stopped working. It's information.

And the second you stop treating a stall like an emergency, you get the one thing that actually moves you forward, a clear head instead of a panicked one.

You can't outdiet a stall. You can't pouch-reset every time one shows up for the rest of your life. (That's just a diet wearing a different outfit.) What actually changes it is building a different relationship with the moments that used to send you spiraling.

That's mindset work. Not more discipline. Not a stricter plan.

I put the whole thing in this week's video and this week I'm running three FREE live trainings on exactly what's been keeping post-op women stuck, and what gets them unstuck. Link's in the comments šŸ‘‡
