This week, our trainees are stepping into practice teaching with one another - and with that often comes vulnerability. The nerves. The desire to say the perfect thing. The hope of guiding someone into a beautiful meditation experience. The inner pressure to “get it right.”
It’s so easy to become attached to outcomes, to wonder if the meditation is working, to let perfectionism creep in, to second guess ourselves, and to worry about whether we are doing enough, saying enough, being enough.
But one of the deepest realizations that emerges through this process is this:
It’s not really about the words.
It’s not about delivering the perfect meditation script or having the most eloquent guidance. It’s about the ✨ENERGY✨ beneath the words. The intention behind the voice. The presence that fills the space between each breath and each pause.
People may not remember every sentence you say, but they will remember how they felt in your presence.
As teachers, we begin to understand that holding space is not about performing. It’s about embodying. It’s about creating safety, coherence, compassion, and trust through our own grounded nervous system and open heart.
And this is powerful stuff even for those who don’t plan on holding space in front of a classroom of meditation students. This embodied wisdom carries over to your life with family, your friendships, your career path, your relationship with yourself … the list goes on as far as how deep this work affects every aspect of your life.
If you’re ready to let go of the attachment to perfection and learn how to live with embodied presence, you belong here - even if you don’t plan on teaching. Our next cohort begins in July and you can learn more by clicking the link in my bio.
This training is so much more than just learning how to teach meditation - it’s about learning to live in your highest expression. 🙌
