Did you know that the American Heart Association no longer requires resue breaths for bystander CPR? This form of CPR is considered hands only.
However, for those of us who have officially been trained, it is still required that we perform the thirty chest compressions, followed by two rescue breaths, then repeat the cycle until EMTs arrive.

Did you know you can do a blended style learning class?
The first part you do online, then you meet in person for the hands on skills session! Super nice for those who have a busy life!

As an AHA instructor, I will be aligned with Zeebee's Heartsavers, LLC as my Training Site.
Adjoni Williams is the owner, and has her own amazing story of her "why" for choosing this course of teaching CPR to healthcare providers and her community.
I look forward to being aligned with Adjoni, and being part of her amazing team of instructors.

ZeeBee’s Heartsavers in Cleveland is turning their pain into purpose by teaching basic life support and first aid skills.

To effectively perform CPR, you need to compress the chest at a rate of 100-120 beats per minute.

Many songs have a tempo within this range and can be used to guide your compressions.
Here is a list of choices from classics to newer songs.

Classic Choices:
"Stayin' Alive" by the Bee Gees: This is the most commonly recommended song for CPR, with a BPM of 103.
"Dancing Queen" by ABBA: A catchy tune with a tempo around 100 BPM.
"I Will Survive" by Gloria Gaynor: Another great option with a BPM around 117.
"MMMBop" by Hanson: This song has a BPM of 104, making it suitable for CPR compressions.

Other Popular Options:
"Crazy in Love" by Beyoncé: This song clocks in at 99 BPM.
"Uptown Funk" by Mark Ronson ft. Bruno Mars: A popular song with a BPM of 115.
"Just Dance" by Lady Gaga ft. Colby O'Douis: This song has a BPM of 119.
"Baby Shark" by Pink Fong: While seemingly unconventional, this song has a BPM of 115.

Important Considerations:
BPM (Beats Per Minute) is key: Focus on songs that have a BPM between 100 and 120 to maintain the correct CPR compression rate, according to the American Heart Association. Familiarity is helpful: Choose songs you know well to avoid hesitation during the emergency. Don't be afraid to improvise: If you don't know any of the songs listed, any song with a similar tempo can be used.
"Another One Bites the Dust" by Queen: This song has a BPM of 110.

Automated External Defibrillators (AED)

AEDs can greatly increase a cardiac arrest victim's chances of survival. The AHA offers a two-page guide on how to implement an AED program at a company or organization. To minimize the time to defibrillation for cardiac arrest victims, deployment of AEDs should not be limited to only trained people (although training is still recommended).
