Always a great adjustment!!

Raking is one of the most common causes of fall back injuries. Why? Because we usually do it using asymmetrical repetition. We hold the rake the same way and twist to the same side for thousands of pulls, which completely exhausts one side of the lower back.
Our top tip to save your spine? The Switch-Hitter Rule.

Every 10 minutes, force yourself to switch your hands and rake on the opposite side of your body. Yes, it will feel extremely awkward and uncoordinated for a few minutes, but it balances the strain across both sides of your spine and prevents those nasty muscle spasms!

We just posted our complete 2-minute Fall Yard Work Survival Guide on the blog, featuring our favorite "reset" stretch to do as soon as you finish bagging the leaves.

Hitting the road for a summer vacation this weekend? 🛣️ Stop and check your seat before you leave the driveway!

Most of us sit far too upright (at a strict 90 degrees) or we recline way too far back, which forces our neck to crane forward to see the road.

Our top tip for long drives? The 100-Degree Rule. Reclining your seat just slightly past perfectly straight (to about 100 or 110 degrees) can decrease the pressure on your lower spinal discs by up to 20%! Less pressure equals less stiffness when you finally arrive at your destination.

We put together a quick, 2-minute road trip survival guide on our blog this month, featuring the "Gas Station Reset" stretch you should be doing every time you stop to fill up.

Getting the garden ready this weekend? 🌷 Don't let "weekend warrior" back pain ruin your Sunday!

Gardening often forces us into awkward, forward-bending positions for way too long. This overstretches the back muscles and puts a ton of pressure on your joints.
Our top tip? Stop bending and start kneeling. Using a gardening stool or a thick kneeling pad keeps your spine in a neutral position so you don't wake up feeling stiff and locked up.

We put together a quick, 2-minute read on our blog featuring our favorite "Gardening Stretch" that you can do right in your yard to reverse the tension.

Check these off to build your mental habit before you head outside this weekend!

Ever since I started going to Dr. Cook, my back hasn’t felt better. I mean once in a while I get a little pinch, but overall not as bad as it used to be. I mean hardly ever hurts anymore. He gave me straight.

I had a really great experience from the start. At my first visit, Dr. Stephens actually took the time to listen and understand what I was dealing with, which made a big difference. The treatment plan felt thoughtful and personalized to my meralgia paresthetica—not just a one-size-fits-all approach.
After dealing with this for a while, I’ve definitely noticed improvement since starting care here.
If you’re looking for someone who’s knowledgeable, professional, and genuinely cares about helping you feel better, I’d definitely recommend Dr. Stephens.
