Sometimes you just need to change things up…

We hadn’t moved the oven in almost two years. Since we’ve had the oven, it’s been a struggle figuring out the best spot for it that will allow us to operate at our fullest capacity.

We’ve had it by our treehouse (IYKYK), we’ve had it where folks currently pull off to park, and we had it where it was for the last two years.

We had weathered many storms there. And with winter approaching, we didn’t want to have to navigate piles of ice and snow like we did last year, nor did we want to continue navigating the rain rushing off of the roof.

So, after a lot of planning and scheming, we leaned into our community and moved the oven. It’s no easy task. While the oven is completely mobile, we do not have a vehicle that can tow what it’s rated at (10K lbs — 5 tons). We are beyond thrilled to have moved it where it is now and are grateful for the help moving it! They slayed the job considering there is less than 6” of horizontal play between the building, the trailer & the post. So grateful.

Excuses aren’t really our thing, but neither is baking with electric or gas, soooooo this is the most perfect (for now) setup. Outside, yet, out of the elements and a VERY short walk from the baking barn to the oven.

We are excited to fire her up tomorrow morning & bake for you on Thursday!!

There are so many great things about this cookie that I’m sure I missed. 😂

Back again for another week… they are my children’s new favorite cookie, so they’re staying because I’ll forever hear “are you making cookies this week?” And “when are you making cookies again?” On repeat until I do.

Not to sound like an AI bot, but we’ve truly been working ‘behind the scenes’ for MONTHS over here to bring this client favorite back to you.

After countless hours over many months of working to get it where we’d love to see it…

FOCACCIA IS BACK

We’ve tweaked the hydration of our sourdough mother AND added some white & whole spelt to strengthen this higher hydration dough… the results:

Lofty with a soft, open crumb and we couldn’t be more THRILLED to reintroduce it to the menu 😊😁

Other than our spelt & graham crackers, this is the most frequently asked for item on our previous season menu… it’s literally one of the three OG B&E loaves introduced in late 2022 and we are beyond STOKED to bring it back for y’all to enjoy.

Only 10 available for next week’s bake, grab yours early, they’ll go quickly.

A glimpse of things on the sweeter side today!!

Toasted Oat + Toffee Chip + Mocha Stracciatella + Mini Semi Sweet Chip Cookies will be back next week & a very limited run of the palmiers & Rosemary shorties. PLUSSSSS, we have Rye Brownies back for next week. Cooler mornings mean firing up the and you get to reap all of the sweet benefits!

2 kids + 2 back to back sports games @ different places over the span of 8 hours = a household of hungry bodies waiting to be nourished

The Rustic Italian Loaf came to the rescue.. a super easy meal that came together in hardly any time at all. The Italian loaf is a long fermented sourdough made with 100% organic ingredients & baked on the hearth of our wood oven (available for preorder through hotplate!!)

We started the oven (425F), butterflied the loaf, scored it, packed all of the nooks and crannies with mozzarella, drizzled with EVOO & sprinkled with Italian seasoning, dried garlic & our house made basil salt… we then spread our Housemade sauce (made with homegrown tomatoes & garlic!) & topped with toppings. Put it in the oven for about 10 minutes and it was ready to go & fed 6 hungry bellies (4 adults + 2 kiddos) with some leftover!

The sky is the limit with this loaf & that’s why we love it sooooo much.

Pro tip, you can do the same thing with our sourdough English muffins!!

There is still some time left to order your wood oven baked sourdough loaves for pick up next Thursday PM or Friday AM.

Oh heyyyyy 🤗
This week’s menu launch is inspired by back to school. Nourishing breakfasts (hearty toasts & English muffins), easy dinners (English muffin pizzas, anyone?), grab & go snacks, aaaannddddd… our current chocolate craving.

Whole grain rustic loaves AND rustic Italian loaves are on the menu full-time. AAAANDDDD we have a guest appearance by our longstanding favorites…
