When your doula learns more you learn more!

Emily Wannenburg | Adv Birth Doula, Personal Trainer, Mentor and I were walking through the hands and knees positions for pushing and talking about how the different movements create space by opening the sitz bones.

👣 Notice her feet, they are tipped in. This little adjustment creates an internal rotation that opens your pelvis up to 2cm!

That's a lot when you are talking about space for a baby to descend!!

Your birth begins with knowing what is possible!

There is much to consider during pregnancy and birth. It can is difficult to know which questions to ask when you do not yet know what may be possible. 💕

Through prenatal visits and childbirth education, I help families learn the language of birth, explore their options, and prepare for decisions that may come up.

The positive impact that comes from having these conversations before labor is huge! The way it can ease fears, helps families enter the birth space with confidence and a deeper understanding of what to expect! 😁

Even with an epidural, frequent position changes are very important. "Gravity is your best friend!"

The CUB offers:

🌼 Support with gravity and movement while providing stability!

🌼 You can rest in hands and knees without holding up your weight.

🌼 Stay in an open pelvis position, while stabilizing both the knee and ankle for side lying positions.

🌼 Sit in an upright position while feeling supported, you can even do a deep squat!

As a Doula the CUB is a tool I take to every birth because every one deserves comfort and options no matter how they choose to labor! 🥰

It's okay to slow things down! As a busy mama and Doula I totally understand being on the go.

I also know there is so much strength, growth and healing that comes from the quiet moments and in the moments of rest. 😊

🏡 THE SISU SUITE: A COMMUNITY BIRTH OPTION CLOSER TO HOSPITAL CARE

Living in the U.P. means distance is part of almost every healthcare decision.

For some families planning a home birth, that can mean living 30, 45, 60 minutes—or more—from a hospital.

The SISU Suite offers another option.

You can still receive individualized midwifery care and plan an out-of-hospital birth, while choosing to labor and birth in a dedicated space located closer to hospital resources if they become necessary.

This can be especially valuable for families who:

• Live a significant distance from the hospital
• Have concerns about winter roads or unpredictable weather
• Want a water birth or low-intervention environment
• Prefer community birth but feel uncomfortable with their distance from emergency services
• Want to remain under the care of their midwife without giving birth at home

The goal isn't to eliminate every risk—no birth setting can do that.

The goal is to give families more thoughtful choices about where they give birth.

That is one of the reasons we're creating the SISU Suite.
