Life tools for the Healing Journey ✨

Exploring our part in things and owning it

Owning it, freeing ourselves of the need to be right, loosens the grip shame has on us

Independence is the product of building walls of protection. Autonomy is the result of creating and maintaining boundaries. At some point walls become toxic. Independence no longer serves. It’s the self. Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the Self. The big S self is who we created to be, who we are retuning to and becoming through integration, it embodiment of our sacred Self. Storm the gate!

Sovereignty is embodiment of Self. We cannot bypass autonomy to arrive. Sovereignty frees us from others perceptions, projections, misreadings. Others influence is no longer our authority. It becomes clear that the limits belong to them, we no loner accept it as ours.

It’s a process. A progression. Every leg of the journey leads deeper, brings clarity, expansion into Self.

This month marks 20 years since an idea took root! The idea of Elevate was always bigger than the boxes it kept getting put in!

It first became reality as a youth group that was short lived as it did not fit that model and we knew we could be more supportive to the youth in our community by moving to Tuesday night, so kids did not have to chose what church to attend.

It became a student outreach under a grass roots nonprofit meeting weekly to provide hot meals and life lessons. We had a highly effective leadership component that included adults and student council, RISE and SHINE.

Elevate evolved into a student enrichment program. Utilizing our weekly meetings to go beyond hot meals and life lessons, to provide mentoring and homework help for all students in the community. We observed the power peer leadership brought to the whole, how both students and adults carrying the weigh of complex trauma and generational strongholds tapped back into their inner child when creative outlets were presented.

Elevate then evolved into an Integrative Wellness program, were we not only met with students weekly, but found opportunities to show up in their schools and communities to strengthen connections. We had monthly leadership meeting that not only trained future leaders, but fostered creativity that gifted the community EleFest, Harvest Party, Elevate Christmas, and Backpack Snacks.

We were on the brink of something big when COVID too the wind out of our sails. We lost the location we called home. It seemed all was lost.

Then ChildLaw Services, Inc. came along and gave us a new home. We adjusted our sails and cells! We remained an integrative wellness program, except now we were actually in schools throughout the state! Which is amazing! We get to share these life lessons, now called life tools, to help students and teachers. We honored to continue this work and partnership with ChildLaw Services.

The student component in schools was only one part of our bigger vision. For awhile now we have been working on bringing our entire vision to fruition. How perfectly timed and significant that it aligned with our 20th anniversary!

We are pleased to announce Elevates next evolution into it own nonprofit organization, Elevate Healing Arts Inc.!

20 years in the making, every step, every piece, every idea, every evolution, every person, every leader, every student has played a part in this dream becoming a reality! Thank you all for your part in this journey🩵💚

We made this announcement yesterday at EleFest Yoga Festival & Mindful Triathlon which was both exciting and scary since it’s no longer a secret! Now that the beans are spilt, we wanted to make it Facebook official✨

EleFest, you were something truly special. 🥹✨

Despite the rain, the unexpected hurdles, and all the little things that didn’t go exactly as planned, our community showed up, showed out, and reminded us what this event is really all about: coming together to make a difference for the children of West Virginia.

From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU to everyone who purchased a ticket, made a donation, participated in our silent auction, supported our mission, and helped us raise funds for Child Law Services and Elevate. Your support helps fuel the important work being done to advocate for, protect, and empower children across our state. That is something worth celebrating, rain or shine. 💛

And to everyone who worked behind the scenes, helped us navigate the unexpected, and kept pushing forward when things got challenging, we could not have done this without you. ❤️

Was it the perfect day we imagined? Maybe not. But it was a beautiful reminder that the heart of an event isn’t the weather, the decorations, or even the plans. It’s the PEOPLE who come together to make it happen.

EleFest was special because of YOU. And no amount of rain could wash away the impact we made together. 🌦️💛
