Crossing through the pain of a Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis and a life-altering divorce felt like the end of everything I knew, but I’ve come to see it as a necessary death of my old identity. Living with chronic illness impacts far more than just the body; it changes your relationships, confidence, and how you see your future. For a long time, I felt like I was “drowning in despair,” losing months to a downward spiral where I believed I had every reason to give up.
But this transition was actually a threshold to true power. I learned that reinvention isn’t just about moving on. It’s about redefining what wholeness looks like beyond a diagnosis. It required me to release unrealistic expectations and shift limiting beliefs.

My experiences with trauma and illness were for a greater purpose, serving as both testimony and a tool for transformation. When your old self “dies,” it makes room for a version of you that is rooted in purpose rather than perfection.

If you are ready to stop wandering and start your own crossing, comment “POWER” below. Let’s walk through the threshold together.

I remember the day hope found me on the interstate through a stranger who reminded me: “God has not abandoned you.” No matter how heavy today feels, you’re not walking this road alone.

Healing is a lifelong rhythm, not a race. Recognize your small victories.
Reflect: Stop ignoring how you feel. Giving your pain a voice is the first step toward reclaiming peace. You have the grace to stay and the grit to grow. Your story is far from over. If this message found you at the right moment, save it and share it with someone who’s navigating their own healing and growth journey.

As a mental health strategist, there’s one thing I wish everyone understood about anxiety. It’s like a storm. You don’t wait for a hurricane to arrive before you stock up on supplies, do you? For those of you who don’t get hurricanes, one prepares far in advance because they know it’s forecasted to hit.

In my book, Lessons Learned: Small Victories Lead to Big Wins, I talk about being proactive. Find your tools now so you are ready when things get hard. For women with health battles or women navigating a major life change, your physical and mental health work together. Preparing early helps you set limits and trust yourself.

TV was my way of silencing pain, trauma, noise. I ended up telling myself,“You can’t television this.” 📺
For many of us, escaping into a fictional world feels like the only way to survive a hard day. Tip #10 of my book, Lessons Learned talks about there being a moment when the pain is too loud to be silenced by a screen. Facing past trauma, MS diagnosis, depression, I realized that silencing my pain didn’t give me peace. Emotional clarity starts when you stop “televisioning” your reality and start being present in your own life. Comment what your “television” is. Don’t lose more time to spiraling; your story is worth showing up for.
