The secret to losing weight for good…
➡️ What is Nutrition Periodization?
It’s the amount of time you spend in each “dieting” phase eating to support your goals using macros as a tool to build muscle, then reduce body fat all while finding balance along the way.
We have to prime our body to diet. You are not meant to consistently be dieting on low calories 365 days a year! You are meant to get in and get out quickly. 8-16 weeks is a typical” fat loss phase time frame, but can vary based on your lifestyle, goals & your biofeedback.
Example: This is why it ‘s important
While in a 16 week calorie deficit and lose 10-20 lbs🙌🏻🎉 but, now you’ve hit a plateau, aka you need a mental break from restricting calories for so long. Even tho… you still have fat to lose.
So why?! because your metabolism has adapted to what you feed it, when you feed it less it down regulates over time and you “burn less calories”. This is when we want your body to THRIVE and burn more calories. In order to do this you need to feed it more. We do this but jumping back up to maintenance. We will reverse diet you back up slowly to prevent weight gain.
➡️ ✨Restricting calories for a long period of time, can lead to hormone imbalances, fatigue, brain fog, loss of your cycle, poor sleep, and in return your workouts will feel like crap!
So… we eat more, which will allows you to thrive, all while improving your body composition but it will more importantly set you up for next successful cut/deficit phase.
✴️This is what we call Nutritional Periodization - a cycle of proper dieting phases that will benefit your metabolism long term.
