Did You Know Low Thyroid Function Causes High Cholesterol?

Low thyroid function can cause cholesterol to rise. T3 tells your liver to clear cholesterol from the blood stream. When T3 levels are low, cholesterol stays in your blood stream for a longer period of time and that causes an increase in LDL and total cholesterol.

Iodoral versus Dr. Lugol's Tablets

Dr. Lugol's Tablets are available in several milligram strengths.
Each strength of Dr. Lugol's Tablets contains the ideal ratio of iodine and potassium iodide.

When formulating Dr. Lugol's Tablets, the goal was to make a 'cleaner' Iodine tablet versus the existing Iodoral recipe.
Iodoral’s formula includes Micosolle, a binder containing Polysorbate 80, an ingredient which is not necessary for iodine absorption. Dr. Lugol 's Tablets does not contain Micosolle, Iodoral does have this binder, making Dr. Lugol's Tablets cleaner.

Dr. Lugol's Tablets are not coated in a pharmaceutical glaze. The glaze was found to be unnecessary because it has no effect on ingredient release or absorption and is just another unnecessary ingredient, making Dr. Lugol's Tablets cleaner. Iodoral does have this glaze.

Iodoral was created by Optimox, the company who ran the Iodine Project Study, but has now been sold to Allergy Research Group which is a large supplement company. When larger companies purchase smaller supplement companies, they generally change the formula, eliminating or reducing the most important ingredients, adding fillers and other additives to distill down the formula, cheapening it in and effort to make it less expensive to make. This means the original formulas are altered, which customers which they do not disclose.

Dr. Lugol's Tablets are made by a small company where the manufacturing is closely monitored and tested to make sure the iodine content stays in tact even after manufacturing. They are tested to ensure each batch contains the exact amount of iodine and the dark amber color validates that.

Dr. Lugol's Tablets are cleaner than Iodoral. Dr. Lugol's Tablets are free of dyes, gluten, dairy, corn, sugar, nuts, and GMOs.

If you've been diagnosed with Hashimoto's and your doctor hasn't checked you for h.pylori, you should consider running this test.

H.pylori is the bacteria that causes stomach ulcers. But research has shown a correlation between h.pylori infection and elevated thyroid antibodies, in particular TPO antibodies.
