The Impact of COVID on Hair
Many people are reporting significant hair loss after contracting COVID-19. But what exactly happens to our body during such a debilitating illness?
In the past, the main function of head hair was to regulate the temperature of the scalp and brain. However, with the advent of air conditioning, heating, and other such conveniences, head hair has lost much of its practical purpose and now serves mainly to enhance our appearance and enable us to experiment with different styles.
When we experience stress or illness, our body prioritizes survival over aesthetics, and may direct nutrients and vitamins to essential organs rather than hair. COVID-19 is no exception, and can be especially stressful for the body. But don't worry, with time and proper nourishment, your hair will grow back.
Folic acid and B-complex vitamins are important for restoring hair follicles and promoting healthy hair growth. However, it's important to note that I am not a doctor and do not prescribe treatments. It's recommended to take these vitamins for at least 6 months, as the body will prioritize other organs before hair.
To support hair growth, try to minimize stress, get enough sleep, drink plenty of water, and eat well. Even if it doesn't help your hair, having s*x can improve your overall well-being. Avoid excessive washing, tight hairstyles, and hot tools. Give your body time to recover after COVID-19 and your hair will return to its former glory. Stay beautiful and healthy!
