Message me about fitness, health and anything about WELLNESS! You may have stumbled upon my page randomly or maybe someone told you to come check it out! Either way, I am SO glad you are here! My name is Lori Miggins (aka - The Organized Mom) and I am an "early retired” (ok I resigned when I had a baby) Special Education teacher, wife to an incredibly hard-working man, and a mommy of three beautif

ul children, oh yeah, and I'm over 40! From the time I was a little girl, I knew I wanted to be a MOMMY. It was dream to just stay home and be with my kids from day ONE. I also wanted to be a teacher, my love for children started early on in my life, so that’s what I set out to do! I taught for 9 years before I had my first baby and pretty much from the minute I fell in love with her, I couldn’t go back to work! After my 3rd child was born, I began to feel like I had no control over my health & fitness and I was struggling with GRIEF from losing my father suddenly. The stress and anxiety took over, and I was completely unfulfilled. I felt like I needed to do something for me. I wanted to gain control of me again and a little voice inside of me always told me to do something to contribute to this family, but I just didn’t know what that was. I still wanted to be able to stay at home with my kids, but I needed to figure out a way to do it all. So I joined a challenge group to give myself some me time and see if I could gain control of my health and fitness. Little did I know that the choice I would soon make would literally CHANGE my life in so many ways and I would be dealing with GRIEF yet again, from losing my mother. By simply taking care of me first, my grief is under control. With the proper support, nutrition and fitness tips, I am in control of me and now I am helping others do the same. I was certainly not looking for this or for Beachbody coaching, but it definitely found me! I have gone from being stay at home mom, to a Star Diamond Fitness Coach with Beachbody, a health & fitness company that has helped me take control of my health and fitness and find ME again! It helped me gain my confidence back, it gave me freedom that I never had before, and helped me find a PASSION that I didn’t know existed. And now I have a place to share my story and help others to change THEIR lives for the better! Today, I spend my time working from home, connecting with new people, and investing in amazing relationships with the people I work with…..my FRAMILY. And I do this all while not missing a moment with my three beautiful children. Exactly what I have always dreamt of…...living out my passions, but not missing a moment with my family! I now get to help others find their potential, live out their dreams and gain their confidence back too! I believe that every person deserves to LIVE a happy and healthy, FULFILLED life! If you can relate at all with any of my passions……Fitness, FAMILY, Freedom, Organizing, Chocolate (I’m addicted), kids, Coffee, the Beach, DISNEY, Fun Tanks, headbands and bracelets, and just good ole fashioned Fun in the sun…..well then, I'd LOVE to CHAT and get to know more about YOU! And maybe even share this opportunity that could CHANGE your life like it has mine! You can click "LIKE" now, or feel free to send me a friend request or even private message me!

:)

I love hearing from new friends! Be confident. Be passionate. Trust yourself. Believe in yourself. PERSEVERE through anything! Believe you can. And you will! XOXO, Lori

If you’ve never looked out the window, spotted a cardinal, and immediately thought, “Hi Mom” … or in my case, “Hi Mom and Dad” … then we’re probably living very different versions of grief.

I know it’s just a bird.

But when you’ve lost someone you love, certain things start to feel different. A song. A smell. A dream. A cardinal landing outside your window at exactly the moment you needed to feel close to them.

Before loss, I probably would have rolled my eyes at the idea.

Now? I find comfort in it.

Maybe it’s a sign. Maybe it’s not.

But grief has a way of teaching you that love doesn’t disappear just because someone is gone. Sometimes it shows up in the smallest, most unexpected moments and somehow makes your heart feel a little lighter.

So yes, every time I see a cardinal, I’ll stop and say hello.

If you’ve never lost a parent, it’s hard to understand how much you’ll one day miss the ordinary things.

The random phone calls.
The questions.
The stories you’ve heard a hundred times.
The way they check on you.

What feels routine today may become the very thing you’d give anything to experience again.

Hold them a little closer.
Call them back.
Stay a little longer.

And maybe the hardest part isn’t just missing them.
It’s missing the version of yourself that existed when they were still here.

Some things don’t feel precious until they’re memories.

🌿 My Go-To Morning Routine for Faster Fat Loss as a 49 yr old (and why I don’t live on caffeine anymore) + 2 extra! 😆

I didn’t need another restart. I needed a reset of my habits!

In my mid-late 40s, I was doing everything that used to work…
and my body just stopped responding.

More tired.
More frustrated.
Starting over again and again. Perimenopause changed the rules and no one warns you.
This isn’t about pushing harder or restricting more.
It’s about working with your body again, especially your cortisol.

Before these habits, I was surviving on caffeine. Now? My energy, metabolism, hormones + cravings are finally in check 👇

1️⃣ Hydrate first thing (lemon + sea salt water) 🍋💦🧂
Balances blood sugar, supports digestion, hydration, keeps morning cortisol steady… and yes, helps you 💩

2️⃣ High-protein, GLP-1–friendly breakfast
No skipping. Be boring and eat the same things too! My daily LORI Bowl - eggs, guac, veggies, fruit + a healthy carb.
Keeps cortisol steady + energy up.
⭐️ Comment PROTEIN for my fave easy high-protein breakfasts.

3️⃣ Skip refined carbs early
Fewer sugar spikes = calmer cortisol = better fat burning.
⭐️ comment MEALS for a free 5 day guide

4️⃣ Morning movement + ☀️
Even 10 minutes helps calm cortisol, reset your rhythm + activate metabolism hormones.
⭐️ Comment MOVE to try a fave workout

5️⃣ Matcha > coffee 🍵
Steady energy, antioxidants, better focus—without the cortisol spike.
⭐️ Comment MATCHA for my fave

6️⃣ Hormone-supportive hydration before caffeine
Minerals + electrolytes to support adrenals, reduce inflammation + gentle detox.
My daily hormone reset.
⭐️ Comment RESET for exactly what I use.

7️⃣ Dry brushing (AM or PM)
Sounds wacko but works wonders to supporting cortisol balance, lymphatic drainage, circulation + puffiness.

✨ Extra love: red light therapy, sauna + deep breathing = huge to calm cortisol + boost metabolism

I work out for my husband…

And by that, I mean I enjoy all those wonderful endorphins that come from MOVING my body. 😜

But seriously…

Exercise does so much more than change your body. It changes your mind.

Every time you MOVE, your body releases endorphins that can boost your mood, lower stress, increase energy, and help you feel more like yourself again.

Some workouts aren’t about calories burned, steps tracked, or pounds lost.

Some workouts are about patience.

About mental clarity.

About having the energy to handle everything life throws your way.

About being a little calmer, happier, and more resilient.

That’s why I keep showing up.

Not because I have to.

Because I love how I feel afterward.

The physical results are a bonus. The mental benefits are what keep me coming back day after day.

And honestly? Elle Woods had a point. Endorphins make you happy. 😉

✨ Comment MOVE and I’ll send you one of my favorite workouts to try for FREE.

The biggest lesson I’ve learned about hormone health?

It’s not just about hormones.

For years, I thought feeling tired, bloated, foggy, stressed, and struggling with stubborn weight was simply a hormone problem.

What I’ve learned is that your hormones don’t work alone.

They rely on other systems in your body doing their job too.

💧 Hydration
Your cells need water and minerals to function properly. Even mild dehydration can impact energy, digestion, cravings, and how you feel throughout the day.

🌱 Digestion & Gut Health
If your gut isn’t functioning well, it can affect nutrient absorption, inflammation levels, and hormone metabolism.

✨ Detoxification
Your body is designed to naturally detox every day through your liver, kidneys, digestive system, skin, and lymphatic system. Supporting those pathways helps your body do what it was created to do.

🔥 Inflammation
Chronic inflammation can affect nearly every system in the body—including the systems that help regulate hormones.

Before you go searching for the next miracle solution, start with the foundations:

✔️ Hydrate your body well
✔️ Replenish minerals and electrolytes
✔️ Support healthy digestion
✔️ Prioritize protein
✔️ Move your body daily
✔️ Get quality sleep
✔️ Reduce inflammation where you can

One of my favorite daily habits for the last 2 years has been a hormone-supportive hydration blend that combines electrolytes, magnesium, fiber, pre- and probiotics, and glutathione to support hydration, digestion, detox pathways, and overall balance.

It’s one of those simple things that takes less than a minute but helps me feel like I’m giving my body support from the inside out before the day even begins.

Because sometimes the biggest improvements don’t come from doing more.

They come from consistently supporting the systems your body relies on every single day.

if you feel like you’re “eating healthy” but not seeing fat loss… most of the time it’s your meals not actually balanced + structured

protein. carbs. healthy fats. fiber.
THAT’S the difference.

this is how you:
→ stay full longer
→ stop craving snacks all night
→ support hormones + energy
→ actually start seeing body comp changes

✨ Mini Dot Cake Cookie Dough Date Bites
🧡❤️💚💙💛💜

These little bites taste like a bakery treat but are made with simple ingredients that support your body, blood sugar, and hormones.

Dates are one of my favorite naturally sweet treats because they’re packed with fiber, antioxidants, potassium, and magnesium- nutrients that help support energy, hydration, stress response, and overall hormone health. Pair them with protein and healthy fats, and you’ve got the perfect balanced treat!

Turning 50 in 2 months… and if there’s one thing I wish I knew sooner, it’s this:

The fatigue.
The brain fog.
The stubborn belly fat.
The cravings.
The disrupted sleep.

I thought it was just part of getting older.

I didn’t realize my morning routine was either helping my hormones… or hurting them.

Did you know that up to 80% of women experience symptoms during perimenopause? Yet many of us are never taught how much simple daily habits can influence how we feel.

The best way to get ahead of perimenopause symptoms isn’t pushing harder.

It’s supporting your body before the day starts.

✨ Hydrate first.
✨ Move your body.
✨ Support your hormones.

Before caffeine.
Before the chaos.
Before the excuses.

That simple shift can help support energy, cravings, bloating, cortisol, metabolism, and how you feel all day long.

My morning starts with hydration, movement, and this hormone-supportive cocktail as a bonus. It’s one of the biggest game-changers I’ve added to my routine.

Perimenopause doesn’t mean your body is working against you. It just means it needs different support than it did in your 20s and 30s.

👇 Tell me in the comments:

What’s the biggest perimenopause symptom you’re currently struggling with?

And if you want to know exactly what’s in my morning hormone-supportive drink, comment RESET.

Save this for tomorrow morning and send it to a friend who’s navigating perimenopause too. 💛

After 40, especially in perimenopause, it feels like your body has a whole approval process before you’re even allowed to get out of bed.

One quick head turn and suddenly things go a little blurry, a little dizzy, and you’re just standing there like… “okay what was that about?”

Please tell me I’m not the only one experiencing this?
