Every day, I eat fruit first. 🍊🍓🍉

It has been one of the most transformative changes I’ve made in how I fuel and support my body.

Fruit provides naturally occurring carbohydrates for energy, along with water, electrolytes, minerals, vitamins, fiber, phytonutrients, and antioxidants. Because whole fruit is rich in water and generally easy to digest, it can be a beautiful way to nourish and hydrate the body without starting the day with a heavy digestive load.

I also love fruit in the morning because it supports my intention to begin the day with foods that are light, hydrating, and rich in nutrients after the body’s overnight period of rest.

For me, that often means fruit on its own until later in the day. If I had a heavier dinner the night before, I may keep things especially simple with fruit, hydrogen water, green juice, or a superfood shake.

This isn't about following another rigid food rule. It's about paying attention to how your body responds.

For me, starting the day with fruit has meant more lightness, hydration, energy, and connection to what my body actually needs.

Sometimes the most powerful changes are also the simplest ones.

🍓 What is one simple change that has made a noticeable difference in how you feel?

Morning sunlight is one of the simplest ways to support your body's internal clock.

Light entering your eyes in the morning helps signal your brain that it's daytime, helping regulate your circadian rhythm. This is the system that influences your sleep/wake cycle and the timing of hormones like melatonin and cortisol.

Consistent morning light exposure may support:

✨ Healthy sleep rhythms
✨ Daytime alertness & focus
✨ Mood
✨ Nervous system regulation
✨ Healthy metabolic rhythms

And the best part? It's free.

Try getting outside within the first part of your morning:

Bright, clear day: ~10–20 minutes
Overcast day: ~20–30 minutes or longer

You don't need to stare at the sun...just let natural outdoor light reach your eyes. Skip the sunglasses when comfortable and safe.

Pair it with a morning walk, fresh air, or a few barefoot minutes outside if you enjoy it.

Sometimes supporting your health doesn't require adding another thing.

It starts with reconnecting to the things your body has always known how to use.

Light.
Movement.
Nature.

Start your morning there.

Today my son and I had our first volunteer day with the Best Day Foundation. What a blessing and privilege it was to spend the day supporting this beautiful mission, providing a fun, safe day at the beach for special needs children, teens, and young adults, and their families. The highlight was watching the pure delight as each of these kids got to get out on surfboards and boogie boards, riding the waves into shore over and over. To the lifeguards and surfers that were out in the water for hours making it possible for these kids to have an experience most of us take for granted…you are phenomenal humans. Lucas and I had a great time being beach buddies for a young boy. The whole experience was humbling and awe-inspiring. As someone who grew up with a special needs sister, today touched my heart so deeply. I very much look forward to becoming a regular participant and contributor to this worthy cause. Terrain Theory vs. Germ Theory 🌱

Most of us were taught that germs are the enemy. That's the foundation of germ theory: the idea that bacteria, viruses, fungi, and other microbes are a primary cause of disease, so the goal is to eliminate or suppress them.

Terrain theory asks a different question: Why was the body vulnerable in the first place?

Instead of focusing only on the microbe, terrain theory focuses on the body's internal environment. This is the "terrain" your cells live in.

Your terrain is influenced by things like:
*Nutrition and mineral status
*Hydration
*Oxygenation
*Toxic burden
*Healthy detoxification pathways
*Stress and nervous system regulation
*Sleep and lifestyle habits

Our genes provide the blueprint, but our daily habits, environment, stress levels, and exposures all influence how those genes are expressed.

When we consistently nourish the body, reduce toxic burden, support healthy detoxification, regulate the nervous system, and provide the building blocks our cells need, we create an internal environment that is more resilient and better able to maintain health.

This doesn't mean germs don't exist or can't make us sick. They absolutely can.

But true wellness isn't just about fighting what's outside of us. It's also about creating the healthiest possible environment within us.

That's the heart of regenerative health: support the terrain, and support the body's incredible ability to heal, adapt, and thrive. 🌿

For a long time, I thought healing was about finding the right protocol.

The right supplement.
The right diet.
The right practitioner.

What I've come to believe is that healing is much deeper than that.

Regenerative health begins with the body through creating the conditions for our cells, organs, and systems to do what they were beautifully designed to do. But it doesn't stop there.

As we nourish the body, we often begin to calm the mind.
As we reduce the burden on our physiology, we create space for emotions to move.
As we reconnect with our bodies, we often reconnect with ourselves.

To me, regenerative health isn't just a detox.

It's a philosophy of healing.
A lifestyle of intention.
An invitation to return to balance...physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

Healing isn't about becoming someone new.

It's about removing what no longer serves you so you can remember who you've always been.

I'd love to know...what does healing mean to you? 💚

Recently, I have been heavily focused on my own nervous system healing and regulation. One of the most important things I do for my health is keep up with regular chiropractic care.

We often think of the spine as simply supporting our posture, but it's also the protective pathway for the nervous system. It's the communication network between your brain and every organ, gland, muscle, and tissue in your body. When the spine is restricted or out of alignment, those messages may not flow as efficiently, which can influence how well your body adapts to stress and functions overall.

Chiropractic care isn't just about relieving back or neck pain. It's about supporting healthy nervous system function.

A few simple ways to support your nervous system every day:

1. Keep up with regular chiropractic care if it's appropriate for you.
2. Prioritize daily movement like walking and gentle stretching to keep your fascia and spine mobile.
3. Support your body with mineral-rich foods, adequate hydration, healthy fats, and quality protein to nourish your muscles, connective tissue, and nerves.
4. Practice deep breathing and spend time in natural light to help shift your body out of "fight-or-flight" mode.

Our bodies are designed to heal and adapt, but they need clear communication to do so. Supporting your spine is one simple way to help your nervous system do what it was created to do.

How do you support your nervous system?

Hello sunshine, I have returned! Please sit with me a moment (okay maybe nearly 3 moments, and it’s possible 1/3 of that time is me mumbling “um…” awkwardly) 😅

I’m excited and gearing up to officially launch my wellness business in 2026. I look forward to sharing more education about the body and regenerative health, as well as sharing more of my own story and journey! Stay tuned, sweet friend 💕
