Women carrying stress and having an overactive mind is one of the most common things I see in my treatment room.

That constant mental chatter, the kind that doesn’t switch off even when the body is tired, is something reflexology can genuinely help with. It works on the nervous system, encouraging the body into a deeper parasympathetic state where real rest becomes possible. A place of mental quiet too.

It doesn’t happen the same way for everyone, but when it does, it’s noticeable.

I have qualified in maternity reflexology!

The course was led by Sally Earlam and covered working with clients throughout pregnancy, during labour, and in the postnatal period: one of the most specialised and rewarding areas of reflexology to train in. We worked through specialist techniques and I came away with so much new knowledge I can’t wait to put in to practice.

It was also special to go back to Nottingham, where I did my original training, and reconnect with some of Class 2024/25 ☺️ Meeting other reflexologists who are just as passionate about this is something I didn’t know I needed.

Maternity reflexology can support relaxation, sleep, and general wellbeing during pregnancy, help prepare the body for labour, and aid recovery afterwards. Gentle, non-invasive, and always tailored to the individual.

Something new in the treatment room:

🟣 Amethyst: often associated with calm and clarity

🩷 Rose Quartz: linked to comfort and emotional ease

🖤 Black Tourmaline: thought to absorb negative energy

🤍 Selenite: said to promote a sense of peace and mental stillness

I believe that the environment you receive a treatment in matters, and these feel like a considered addition to the calm and grounded space I’m aiming for.

I’ll be honest, I don’t have the answers on how crystals work. I’m curious. There’s a lot of conversation around crystals and energy and I’m approaching it with an open mind.

One of my favourite parts of training as a reflexologist was diving deep into anatomy, physiology and pathology — and honestly? I use that knowledge with every single client.

It’s something I bring into every treatment. I develop a bespoke plan for each client based on their presentation, what I find on the feet, and the deeper understanding I build through reflection and research afterwards.

I’m always learning, always refining — so I can support each client in the best way possible.

Stafford House Reflexology has an additional location!

I’m so happy to share that we now have an additional location, somewhere very close to my heart.

I was born and raised in Wrexham, and although life has taken me to different places around the country (and I’m now settled in beautiful Audlem), this is where my journey really began.

It feels so special to be bringing this practice back closer to my beginnings, closer to Mum, closer to family, and to friends old and new (including those we haven’t met yet!).

From Wednesday 15th April, I’ll be available every Wednesday in the cosy treatment room upstairs at Homestead @ the Old Police Station, Gresford. I can’t wait to welcome you in and share some calm, rest, and healing with you 🌿
