IS THERE A SAFE ALCOHOL DOSAGE?

No, period. 🙅‍♀️

The safest amount of alcohol to consume is none at all.

While moderate alcohol consumption has been linked to certain health benefits, such as a lower risk of heart disease, the risks of drinking alcohol often outweigh any potential benefits.

Even low levels of alcohol consumption can increase the risk of certain cancers, liver disease, pancreatitis, high blood pressure, and mental health problems. 😮

Additionally, excessive alcohol consumption can lead to alcohol poisoning, accidents, and other negative outcomes.

OFFICIAL POSITION

It is important to note that relatively safe alcohol consumption levels can vary based on factors such as age, gender, weight, and overall health.

As a general guideline, the US Department of Health and Human Services recommends that men should not consume more than two standard drinks per day, and women should not consume more than one standard drink per day. However, it's important to understand that these guidelines are not a guarantee of safety and that everyone's body responds differently to alcohol. 🍷

WHAT IF I STILL WANT TO DRINK?

If you choose to drink, it is important to do so in moderation and to be aware of the potential risks associated with alcohol consumption.

Do you drink? Share your answers in comments. 💬

WHEN FASTING, CAN WE SUBSTITUTE WATER WITH PURE TEA? 🍵

Let’s find out!

While tea can provide some hydration benefits, it cannot completely replace water as the primary source of hydration. Here are a few reasons why:

Caffeine Content ☕️

Tea often contains caffeine, which can be a mild diuretic. This means that it can cause your body to lose more water than it takes in, which can lead to dehydration over time.

Sugar Content 🍫

Many people add sugar or other sweeteners to their tea, which can increase the calorie count and negate any potential health benefits. Excess sugar intake can also lead to dehydration.

Nutrient Content 💊

While tea does contain some beneficial nutrients, such as antioxidants, it does not contain all the essential vitamins and minerals that water does.

Hydration Levels 💧

Water is the most effective way to rehydrate the body. While tea can provide some hydration, it may not be enough to replace the water lost through sweat and other bodily functions.

THE BOTTOM LINE

In summary, while tea can be a good addition to your daily fluid intake, it should not be relied upon as the sole source of hydration.

It is important to consume plenty of water throughout the day to keep your body properly hydrated. 💦

WHY DO WE SWELL AND HOW TO GET RID OF EDEMA

Edema is not only an aesthetic problem.

If it happens frequently or are accompanied by pain, this is a sign of a serious health problem that needs to be identified and treated. ✋

The causes of edema can be both physiological and pathological.

When swelling occurs:

☀️ MORNING

If you swell up in the morning, it’s usually caused by:

- Lack of sleep
- Uncomfortable pillow (too high, provokes vasoconstriction)
- Inaccuracy in nutrition (excess of salty foods or liquids, fried foods, alcohol, sweets the night before)

👉 Solution: improve sleep, change pillow, adjust diet.

⚠️ Pathological causes may include kidney damage.

🌚 EVENING

Often swelling of the face is accompanied by severe swelling in the extremities - hands, feet, legs. Such swelling is usually denser and go away slowly.

If you swell up in the evening, the following reasons are possible:

- Hot season
- Cardiovascular diseases
- Varicose veins

🌗 DAY / ANY TIME OF THE DAY (on the face, on the body, on the limbs)

- Hypothyroidism (especially in autoimmune thyroiditis and in pregnant women)

- Allergic reaction (rapidly increasing swelling of the face during the day) to food, insect bites, cosmetics, medicines and even cold.

- Liver disease (especially in alcohol lovers)

- Protein deficiency in the diet leads to disorders of the water-salt balance, due to which fluid accumulates in the tissues.

⁉️SHOULD I BE SCARED

Not really. In most cases, swelling up is caused by unhealthy diet. That what you can change!

If edema is not associated with serious pathological conditions, then most often a lifestyle correction and a well-composed diet by a nutritionist will help solve this problem.

Do you swell up? Why? 🙂

TOP WINTER PRODUCTS ❄️

Total lack of vitamins - this is how you can characterize the winter period for our body. 🤒

The easiest way to make up for deficiencies is to eat healthy foods.

The main thing is to know which products should be given special attention when it’s cold.👇

❤️ Cranberry
The main winter berry, known for its beneficial properties. In addition to a big dose of vitamin C, cranberries also contain vitamins E, K1, manganese and copper.

💚 Sauerkraut
One serving of sauerkraut with olive oil and red onion contains probiotics and prebiotics that improve digestion, vitamins C, B6, K2, fiber, iron, folic acid and other beneficial micronutrients.

🧡Citruses
Of course, the winter menu of any family is impossible without citrus fruits. Tangerines, oranges, grapefruits, lemons, limes - everyone can find their favorite fruit. Citrus fruits are one of the best sources of vitamin C, potassium and folic acid.

💛 Dried fruits
In winter, when the choice of fresh fruits is somewhat limited, dried fruits come to the rescue. For example, prunes are rich in antioxidants, vitamin K, phosphorus, magnesium, and potassium. Dried apricots are a source of vitamins A, C, E and beta-carotene. And raisins are full of iron, calcium, and antioxidants.

🤎 Spices
Spices added to food can not only improve its taste, but also enrich the body with vitamins.
For example, garlic fights viruses. And black pepper has anti-inflammatory properties.

Going to the store, do not forget about our recommendations!

What would you add to the list of top winter foods? ⛄️
