🎉 July is here—the start of the second half of the year! 🎉

This month, I'm doing something different.

I'm focusing on one small choice each day to better care for the body God has entrusted to me.

🥁 So... I created the Faith Over Flare Collective™ 31-Day Wellness Challenge!

Day 1: Hydrate
💧 Drink one extra glass of water today.

It may seem small, but small, consistent choices have a way of adding up over time.

"Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God." — 1 Corinthians 10:31

If you'd like to join me this month, save this post, follow along throughout July, and invite a friend to join us. I'd love to hear how you're doing along the way. 🤍

Nobody Talks About...

Nobody talks about how one of the hardest parts of living with chronic illness is grieving the life you thought you'd have.

Not because life is over...

But because sometimes you have to let go of the version of yourself you once were—or the version you thought you'd become—before you can fully embrace who you're becoming.

It's a grief that doesn't always have words.

But I've learned that God can still bring purpose from the consequences of our choices, the circumstances we never chose, and everything in between.

"For in Him we live and move and have our being." — Acts 17:28

I'm still learning to trust Him with the life I didn't expect.

Have you ever had to grieve a version of your life you thought you'd have?

✨✨️✨️Selah Sundays✨️✨️✨️

Sometimes, the greatest act of faith isn't pushing harder.

It's allowing yourself to rest.

If this week has been heavy...
If your body is tired...
If your heart is carrying more than anyone realizes...

Jesus offers an invitation, not a demand:

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." — Matthew 11:28

Today, give yourself permission to pause.

Rest isn't giving up.

Rest is an act of trust.

Praying you find peace, strength, and renewed hope for the week ahead. 🤍

🏆 Little Wins 🏆

The last few days, I've been mostly bedridden because of a flare.

Today, I was able to get up and cook both breakfast and dinner for my family.

To some people, that might seem like an ordinary day.

To me, it was a victory.

Living with chronic illness has changed what I consider a "good day." I've learned to celebrate the moments my body allows me to do the things I love, no matter how ordinary they may seem to someone else.

Today, I'm grateful.

💚 What's one little win you've had this week? I'd love to celebrate it with you.

Some battles are visible.

Many aren't.

For years, I've lived with symptoms people couldn't see, pain they couldn't measure, and questions I couldn't answer. Hidradenitis Suppurativa is one part of my journey—but it isn't my whole story.

This post is for everyone navigating a chronic illness, chronic pain, an autoimmune disease, a disability, or another invisible battle.

If that's you, I hope you know this:

☆You are more than your diagnosis.
☆Your story matters.
☆You are not alone.

I'd love to hear from you.

What chronic illness or invisible battle are you navigating?

Share it in the comments. You never know who might read your story and realize they're not alone. 💛

Because awareness begins when we tell our stories.

Meet the Founder 💛

Hey, I'm Lani, founder of The Faith Over Flare Collective.

For more than 30 years, I've been living with chronic illness, and life just hits differently.

Parenting hits differently.
Friendships hit differently.
Work hits differently.
Showing up for the people you love... it hits differently.

There have been seasons when I focused more on everything chronic illness had taken from me than on everything God was still doing in my life.

And yet, through it all, God has never stopped showing up for me.

That's why I created The Faith Over Flare Collective.

I wanted to create the kind of space I wish I had years ago—a place where faith and chronic illness can exist in the same conversation. A place where we can be honest about the hard days, celebrate the small victories, encourage one another, and remember that our diagnosis is part of our story, but it is never our identity.

Whether you're living with chronic illness, caring for someone who is, or simply looking for hope...

I'm so glad you're here. My prayer is that this community reminds you that even on the hardest days, you're never walking this journey alone.

🙏🏾 💚 Healing. Growth. Purpose.

Welcome to The Faith Over Flare Collective!

Healing isn't always the absence of pain. Sometimes, it's finding hope in the middle of it.

The Faith Over Flare Collective was created for those navigating chronic illness, hidden battles, and seasons of uncertainty. It's a place where faith meets real life—where we make room for honest conversations, celebrate small victories, and remind one another that our diagnosis is never our identity.

Here you'll find encouragement rooted in God's Word, chronic illness awareness, practical resources, personal stories, and a community that understands both the visible and invisible challenges of living with chronic illness.

Whether you're searching for hope, healing, or simply a place where you feel seen...

Welcome.👋
You belong here.💚

✨️Healing. ✨️Growth. ✨️Purpose.
