Finding Your Laughter is a joy-filled personal documentary that tells the story of Arlieta, a comedian, who goes against all popular advice and quits her day job to care for her father, Milton, and learn how to laugh in the midst of a disease that is not very funny. Inspired by her father’s own artistic career, Arlieta turns to comedy to process her emotions and affirm and validate her father’s experiences. While Milton declines, Arlieta’s artistic career begins to flourish. At home, however, caregiving grows increasingly demanding, leading her to give up her independence and move back in with Milton and her “bonus mom,” Charmaine.
