The whole cannot be perceived by βthe world,β because βthe worldβ is not a perceiver. There is no collective eye floating above things, no external world-mind that sees the whole from nowhere. Some may say βno godβ.
Sight happens through the ensouled individual. That is why the single eye in the sun matters. It is not a binocular, empirical sight, not the two eyes that measure distance, surface, position, object. It is the one eye, the sight of the soul, the inward illumination through which the whole can appear as whole.
