adding more volume to your meals is not only a great way to give your body extra nutrients it needs for cell growth, regeneration and to maintain vital bodily functions but it ALSO helps you reach the caloric intake you need in order to actually burn fat. 🤓✨

yes, your body need calories to burn in order to actually burn fat and help you lose weight. yes, i’m saying that not eating enough calories is actually hindering your ability to burn fat 💥

so to wrap it all up in a cute little bow 🎀…by adding in extra vegetables and lean protein (the macro that takes the most energy to break down), you are helping your metabolism keep up, gaining extra vital nutrients for your overall health, aiding in the effort to burn fat but sustain lean muscle mass in your body and MAKING ACTUAL SATISFYING MEALS (yes, this excites me)!!!✨🤍😊🦋

here’s another way I want to start supporting you all as my community! since june 2020 (aka 1 year ago), i’ve started journaling, doing daily affirmations and intentions after huge changes and transitions in my life. ✨🤍

I wanted to do it myself before bringing it to you all and the truth is, journaling, self affirming, and grounding and living through intentions is HARD! truly it’s very hard but I’ve worked through a lot of those difficulties and now I’m ready to share with you all! I’m going to loop these into my content on this page because I really do feel more nourished and enriched in my life with these things being included! ✨🤍🦋

ITS SUMMER PRODUCE TIME!!!✨🍒🍉🫐🍑🥭🍍🥝🍅🥑🥒🥬

one of the main reasons I think summer has become my favorite season is because ALL of my faves are in season!! I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it a million times more, SHOPPING IN SEASON PRODUCE is not only cheaper but the produce itself taste SO much better and can be more nutrient-dense depending on where/how it’s grown.

here’s my GO TO list for summer produce!! (yes, I know I made a rookie mistake and put the tomatoes and avocados in the veggie section but there were just so many fruits on that page lol)

✨GROCERY SHOPPING TIPS— part two!!✨SWIPE TO SEE A SAMPLE GROCERY LIST🦋

I’ve gotten so many questions about what my grocery list looks like and to be honest, it’s always changing and sometimes I don’t even need to make one (😬) because I’ve gotten so good at shopping!💁🏽‍♀️☺️

I created this graphic so you can have a guide when you are making your grocery list or if you end up at the store with no list and need some suggestions! All of these will allow you to create delicious and nutritious meals throughout the week, even if you’re going into the week without a game plan. ✨🤍

I left snacks out because I think those are truly up to the individual. I don’t love the idea of telling anyone what to snack on because it depends on what you’re in the mood for and what flavor profiles you like! Some of my go-to’s are:
snacks candies or dark chocolate almond butter cups
Himalayan Salt Popcorn
Organic Pretzel Sticks
Sunflower Buttercups
Rosemary Sea Salt Crackers
Pizza Crackers

stress + nutrition are related!! surprise! it’s mental health awareness month and I want to give you another reason to prioritize your mental health and stress-relieving practices!! ✨🤍🦋

on my stories on Monday, over half of you said that you didn’t think that stress and nutrition were related at all! no wayyyyyyy! it’s so important that you know this information so you can prioritize your mental health and stress levels because it has been linked to nutrition in a few different ways!✨🤍

✨1. STRESS HAS ITS OWN IMPACT ON HEALTH OUTCOMES! I recently read a study that surveyed the health outcomes of individuals with with high stress levels. They found that individuals who chose highly processed, sugar-sweetened foods regularly compounded with high stress experienced a substantial increase in visceral fat and early metabolic decrease.

✨2. THE FOODS YOU CHOOSE CAN EFFECT YOUR LEVELS OF STRESS AND ANXIETY. Dietary patterns emphasizing whole foods have been linked to lower risk of depression and lower levels of stress and anxiety. Conversely, chronic stress has been linked to the depletion of magnesium, iron, zinc and calcium concentrations in our bodies! It also has been connected to negatively affecting your dietary patterns.

These are just two simple things we can be more aware of to prevent serious health risks in the future and just better our quality of life. By lowering your stress levels daily and aiming for a whole-foods based diet you can improve your overall nutrition and mental wellness and WE LOVE TO HEAR THAT NEWS!! ✨🤍🦋 Check out my page for more ways to lower stress and add more whole foods to meals and your diet!!
