Erica V. Walton has had her fair share of heartache and pain. The Chicago native grew up on the south side in the city’s Roseland community. She witnessed her family struggle with drug abuse and crime, survived the abandonment of her biological parents, homelessness, and molestation. Only to find herself in physically and emotionally abusive relationships. By the age of twenty two, Erica was a single mother of four children, all under five. In 2011, she refused to continue carrying the baggage of her past. Erica started the Black Girls Next Door in the summer of 2011. The foundation's focus was the empowerment of girls ages 7-17 years old. The programs taught them the importance of self care and sisterhood. After hosting camps, brunches and food drives for the homeless, she created the RoyalTee Collection apparel line, and wrote her first children’s book. She also owns the Evolving Diva Inc, Events and Coaching. The events she creates serve the Africa American community in a positive light. Her focus is mainly women ages 24-47. Her motto is “In My Hands Queen Reign Supreme”. Erica is committed to the evolution of the black community. Using her events, retreats, and challenges, she hope is that she can inspire women and girls to let go of their pain and find purpose from it. In 2019, Erica is adding coaching to her business with her “Reclaiming Your Queendom From Pain to Reign” workshops. Erica is an exceptional wife and mother of thirteen children. She’s also a self published author of nine books including her autobiography "A Diva Evolving".
