For Love Of Keiya

Restoration work day 2016 in honor of Keiya on her birthday. Thanks to all who came out! We did some work clearing invasive honeysuckle bushes and then went for a hike up to Keiya's sacred hill to read a few of her poems. The Serviceberry trees graced the forest with scatterings of white blooms. It was a beautiful crisp spring day filled with many warm hearts.

As we're approaching sunset today I'd like to share this sunrise with Keiya clip from years back on our family vacation. Simply in a sweet waking moment :) I'd like to pause and be thankful for all the beauty this earth shows us and for the preciousness of life. And to remember a very special girl on her birthday. Happy Birthday dear Keiya :)

Tawney Oaks
715 West Singing Woods Road
Edelstein, IL
The entrance off Cedar Hills Drive has a short gate with two stone pillars, flanked by two oak trees. Turn in and follow road to parking lot. We'll place a flag/marker so you know where to turn in.

Meet at Tawney Oaks for a good hike up to one of Keiya's favorite meadows for a restoration project. Dress befitting the weather, a hike, and outdoor work, i.e. gloves, long pants, and sturdy boots. Loppers will be provided. We'll be providing some light morning snacks. We'll be sure to let you know if the project has to be canceled due to weather. Please just let us know if you have any questions.

Hiyas to ya all, sister Lindsay here. Its been a year since Keiya's passing into the next. I've been through darkness and have stood in incredible light. Been taking a lot of quiet time, just being and reflecting....finding understanding and gratitude. And so life keeps moving.

In efforts to rekindle this community I'd like to turn the tables of my sadness and start to share a series of bits and pieces of Keiya with you from my relationship with her.

Because Keiya has such a unique soul and has so many morsels of wisdom, silliness, oddities and sweetness that she has left in the hearts of us all…. I figure why not share and continue to connect with her essence. I am finding now that the words and unfound stories she has left with me I'm sure so many others mean so much to me moving forward in my life.

I believe that as we all learn to be with her in new ways it helps to connect with her spirit through stories, writings or sentiments. Because in passing I don't just continue to remember and love her….I still learn new things, evolve and create new chuckles with her, at her and with others as I move through life! As I believe she really is not gone and is so very close.

I'll post here on Facebook but also plan to evolve and engage on Keiya's website or a personal blog in the coming months….http://forloveofkeiya.com/. Will keep ya posted.
