IBCLC stands for International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. An IBCLC is a healthcare professional who specializes in the clinical management of breastfeeding. They are trained and certified to provide expert advice and support to breastfeeding mothers and infants, as well as to help resolve complex breastfeeding issues and challenges. Also, I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing a

nd another Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science. Currently, I am in Nurse Practitioner school with a graduation date of January 2026. For a dozen years, I have been working as a registered nurse on the Mother-Baby floor of Portneuf Medical Center, where I provide care to patients in postpartum, the newborn nursery, women’s surgery, and the NICU. Throughout these years, I have attended many births and taught childbirth education classes to expectant families. I have also provided thousands of hours of lactation-specific care in the hospital setting. As an IBCLC outside of the hospital, I have assisted babies from a few days old up to age 2.
