What if creating a more inclusive future started with something simple...listening?

Too often assumptions are made about what life with Spina Bifida looks like. But EVERY person's journey is different, shaped by their own experiences, goals, talents, challenges, and dreams.

During Spina Bifida Awareness Month, we invite our community to listen, learn, and look beyond the diagnosis. When we take the time to hear someone's story, we build understanding. When we choose inclusion, we create opportunities. And when we see the person first, we help create a future where everyone can THRIVE!

As the SBC community, let's build a community where people with Spina Bifida are seen, heard, valued, and empowered to define their own future and "See the future...their way!"

Spina Bifida Awareness Month is here — and our 2026 theme says it all:
Seeing the Future…My Way!

This year, we’re celebrating a world where people living with spina bifida are empowered to dream boldly, choose their own paths, and define what their future looks like. Every person has a story, a vision, and a future that deserves to be seen, supported, and celebrated.

We invite our community to look beyond disability and see the whole person — their personality, abilities, ambition, and incredible potential. Together, we can listen, challenge assumptions, promote accessibility, encourage inclusion, and help create opportunities for everyone to reach their goals.

We can’t wait to see you on Saturday, September 26th as we come together for our 26th Walk & Roll — a milestone year filled with community, joy, and unstoppable SBC spirit.

We’re already at an incredible $99,293 raised, and the momentum is electric. This community continues to show up, lift each other up, and make a real impact for families across our region.
