As a ER nurse for many years I blog about things I am passionate about, education about injury prevention is my deepest passion. The needless deaths from uneducated victims and unaware bystanders that I have personally witnessed in my career are near to my heart and will always be remembered deep in my soul, especially the children who depended on parents to protect them. I care for patients as I
would my own family and would expect care for myself, thinking positively gets me thru each day and an odd sense of humor keeps me sane. Nursing is a profession that is my mission field, I feel lead from above to do my job and to teach others what I know, even the stupid mistakes I have made along the way (boy are there a few of those). Emergency nursing has been my calling for some odd reason, working well under pressure and remaining calm in the chaos of it all is imperative. Er Nurses tend to be the worst to "eat their young" and the lateral violence that occurs from one nurse to another in the Emergency Department is saddening, that is another reason my nursing blog is called ER Nurses Care, some of us still do! As a victim of lateral violence in the workplace myself, I strive now to educate others about taking care of each other and standing up for what is right! It took many years for me to wake up and move forward with my life and career, but I am on the right track now.
