September is NICU awareness month‼️‼️‼️‼️

What exactly is the NICU?
A NICU, or Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, is a specialized hospital unit that provides intensive medical care to newborns who need additional support.

Babies may be admitted because they are born prematurely, have breathing difficulties, infections, congenital conditions, require surgery, or have other medical needs.

And here's something every NICU parent needs to hear:
🔘A NICU admission does not mean you failed.
🔘It does not mean you did something wrong.
🔘It does not mean your body failed your baby.
🔘Sometimes babies simply need more time, more support, and more specialized care than we expected.

I teach moms that birth is a physiological process, sensations vary tremendously, and preparation can help them understand what their body is doing and what choices they have.

Here’s the thing, I can’t promise a “pain-free” birth. I can however prepare you for birth so that your body is capable of handling what you may experience.

We are currently running a special for $75 for childbirth education. This is a 1:1 virtual class that is broken up into three sessions. If you are a new mom, a mom with an age gap in children, a birth support partner, or even a doula who wants to understand the physiology of birth more, this class is for you!

I have two goals that I am working toward reaching by the middle of next month. I have been invited to participate in two vendor expos, both of which would be incredible opportunities to gain more exposure in the communities and surrounding areas that I serve.

If you're not familiar with what I do, hi and welcome!

I am a virtual birth and postpartum doula, childbirth educator, certified high-risk doula, certified lactation peer counselor, doula trainer, and mentor. My passion is serving families throughout Southeast Georgia, particularly in communities where birth support is limited.

Many women in my area must travel 30 minutes to over an hour just to reach a hospital for delivery. Birth support resources are few and far between, which is one of the reasons I chose to offer virtual services. My mission is to ensure that more women have access to evidence-based education, compassionate support, and the confidence they need throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

Now, I need a little help.

The total cost to participate in both vendor events is $385. These events would allow me to connect with more families, expand awareness of my services, and reach clients who may be able to invest in support. In turn, that helps me continue offering reduced-cost and pro-bono services to families who otherwise could not afford them.

Birth work is not just what I do, it's a calling that is deeply connected to my heart.

One thing I always tell my clients: We can't make baby move into position, but we can encourage balance, movement, and space so baby has the opportunity to find their best position for birth.

✨ Daily walks
✨ Hip circles on a birth ball
✨ Pelvic tilts and cat-cow stretches
✨ Forward-leaning positions
✨ Sitting with hips higher than knees
✨ Side-lying rest
✨ Staying hydrated and well-rested
✨ Body-balancing support when needed

Remember, babies continue to move and adjust throughout pregnancy and labor. The goal isn't perfection, it's creating an environment that supports both you and baby. 🤎
