Hey! It's been a minute since I introduced myself πŸ‘‹

I'm Christie Hajduk (hi-duke), owner of 925 Wellness

I'm an Assisted Stretching Specialist and yoga teacher in the Clio area.

Not only do I help people move better and feel better, I also run a small farm where you will see me out working with my goats 🐐 and chickens πŸ“

I have been teaching yoga since 2018

Fun fact! Lori and Machelle from Sol Sister Studio were both in my very first yoga teacher training!

I have been providing Assisted Stretching for over two years now, working with a variety of clients.

In my free time I love to hang out around the farm and with all my animals - and family

I love to make things from scratch - soaps, lotions, breads - get out of here with your sourdough energy I just can't πŸ˜†, and now cheeses πŸ§€

Don't tell me I can't do something because I'll just do it harder πŸ’ͺ

I have always been on the move and loved being active. After taking a detour in advertising, it wasn't until 2020 that I made my love of movement into a business πŸ’–

A lot of people say "why goat yoga?!" Because they bring cute chaos and give us a chance to get outside, slow down, laugh (a lot) and enjoy these silly barnyard puppies.

"It just came out of nowhere!"

Have you found yourself with an ache, pain or movement limitation that left you wondering where the heck that came from?

When I meet with clients for the first time we always talk not only about their goals for their session and what brought them in that day, but also what activities and movement behaviors they experience on a daily or weekly basis.

That discussion may seem silly and unimportant but it gives me a glimpse into how you use your body. So that when you tell me "it just came out of nowhere" I can help be your personal detective and see if there's an underlying repetitive movement, behavior, or compensation that could be causing the pain or discomfort you're feeling.

I was recently complaining about a pain that just came out of nowhere in my left hand. I had to remind myself to put my detective hat on and look into my daily movement habits to see what might have changed or caused this discomfort.

One new activity for me is milking my goats. My left hand is my non-dominant hand. It is getting quite the workout milking multiple goats twice a day. That means my hands now have a brand new workout that they do every single day.

Now that I've looked into my daily movements, I can figure out the right recovery tool to help me with this not so out of the blue discomfort.

This is my favorite feedback from clients!

I ran into a client that I worked with weekly for months, side by side with PT and massage, to help regain mobility from frozen shoulder.

I haven't seen this client in over a year and when we ran into each other unexpectedly and started catching up one of the first things she said was "look what I can do!"

I love hearing this from clients because it means that we were able to unlock new movements or movements that had been limited by injury, overuse, etc.

These movements may look minor, like being able to bring your arm behind your head, but when that movement has not been available to you for over a year, it's a big deal and it should be celebrated.

So never hesitate to show off your new moves no matter how small.

Have you ever heard of blue zones? These areas have higher concentrations of individuals who live to a much older age (around or exceeding 100 years old) and they have three things in common; clean whole foods, community, and a life of movement.

And these movements are not necessarily go to the gym or the latest health fitness class. They are lives of micro movements. Think more along the lines of gardening, walking into town, yard work around their home, or managing a homestead.

Movement is essential for healthy bodies and a healthy mind. We often think that we have to put ours into the gym to accomplish that. But we overlook the most important thing and that is adding movement back into our lives. Walking a little further. Doing a little bit more manual labor. Letting our bodies do the work.

This isn't to say that we can't use tools to help us along with a process, but we are getting so far away from movement that we're letting everything else do the movement for us.

If you want to add longevity to your life, start by adding micro movements back in. Parking a little further away. Going for an after dinner walk. Or finding an activity that you love that gets the body moving.

I even catch myself in a negative self talk spiral from time to time about my lack of gym time and then days like these when I remember real life movements are what it's really all about.

Not to be a tease but, some big news will be coming your way soon! I'm not going to tell you yet though πŸ€ͺ
