Cristina’s celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, the 9th of June, at 10:00 AM at Episcopal Church of the Cross, 7244 Patterson Rd. Columbia, SC 29209. The family requests that you wear bright colors instead of the traditional mourning black to reflect Cristina's joyful and bubbly peronsaility. There will be time after the service for food and community.

Message from dad: Dear friends and family. My beloved wife of 32 years; Cristina Worley-Criado passed away this morning after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. She was truly loved and surrounded by family. She was a special person who saw the world differently than most, trying always to find the good. She will be missed. Funeral arrangements are pending.

Hi, it's Crystal. After a little over a week on hospice, Mom had to be taken back to the emergency room today for a possible bowel obstruction. She has been puking up everything, which means she hasn't been able to be medicated. So, she is in pain and severely dehydrated and suffering. What was supposed to be comfort care in her final days has not been comfortable at all. We are crossing our fingers that they can help her at the hospital and let her come back home. There is a possibility she has to stay at the hospital or go into a hospice facility, and none of us want that for her. As always, thank you for supporting us. Keep us in your thoughts, especially our mama.

It’s Milo. We’ve appreciated this time we’ve had with mom so far and it’s been a good thing for the boys to see her and say hello. Mom had nurses in today to check on her and describe what is happening to her body. They convinced her to restart the morphine and all medication, as lack of pain relief is the source of her nausea and vomiting. They’ve upped morphine to every 2 hours instead of 4.

The nurses have explained to mom that her body is trying to shut down. This is what it naturally has to do. When she stops the morphine, the pain is preventing her body from shutting down, and only causing more suffering. If she stays on morphine, her body will be able to naturally do what it needs to until she passes. She doesn’t deserve to suffer in her final moments, so we are glad she has agreed to continue to take it. They say with the morphine, from here on, it’s just a waiting game. The nurses will now start coming daily to check in with mom and us.

We are making arrangements for what comes after, and just trying to be there for mom as much as possible. Thank you again for your love and support.

Hi, everyone. We have been quiet on our end because there isn't too much to share. Mom is on hospice and has good days and bad days. Recently it has been several bad days. She sleeps most of the day, and when she is awake she is in a lot of pain. There isn't much she can do outside of that. She is unable to eat for the most part, and she is only able to drink very little. Unfortunately, that is part of the hospice journey. It is really difficult to see her suffer. When mom was more engaged a few weeks ago, she was intentional about saying she did not want pancreatic cancer to define her, to become her whole story. I want to help with that, so here are some pictures of her in her life showing her many different moments. Thank you for continuing to share, donate, pray, and just think of us. It means so much.

Mom was discharged from the hospital this afternoon, and she is now on home hospice. She is really glad to be home. Now, it is our job to keep her comfortable and happy and peaceful. For as much time as we have with her.
