For those of you who don’t know:

August was born with a Hemangioma that has gotten quite large over his 10 months of life!
As new parents and a first time mom at that- I had a lot of questions, some worry and emotions navigating something I knew very little about.

This video shows the progression and changes that he has faced. If you’ve went through this or something similar , you’re not alone.

I get this question a lot!-

Why don’t they remove it?

Most hemangiomas actually shrink on their own over time stunting its growth around 1 year old!

There are a few options:
1. Using Propranolol until 1 year old ( oral medicine )

2. Waiting it out

3. Cosmetic surgery later on

Because it is made of blood vessels, removing it can be more complicated and isn’t always necessary unless it causes medical issues.

Always talk to a Specialist to see which route fits your baby best.
