The Student Dietetic Association advocates for the nutrition and dietetics professions on the Ohio State campus and in the surrounding Columbus community.

The Student Dietetic Association advocates the nutrition and dietetics professions through volunteering, fundraising, socials and all around having fun! The overarching program of SDA is the Medical Dietetics program housed in the school of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, which was the first and one of the few accredited coordinated dietetics program in the country. All Medical Dietetics stude

nts are automatically part of SDA. All other OSU students who are interested in nutrition and dietetics are encouraged and invited to get involved. Please contact us for any questions!

Happy Monday SDA! We are so excited to share our February event, a Virtual Yoga Class Fundraiser! 🧘‍♀️

On Sunday, Feb 27th from 6-7 PM, we will be hosting a virtual yoga event to benefit the Natalie Ridgeway Scholarship Fund! We are asking for a donation of at least $5 to attend. To sign up, visit the link on the infographic ⬆️

This class is open to everyone - we encourage you to share the flyer below with friends, family, and preceptors! For SDA members, this will count as a community event

Welcome back SDA members❗️we hope you had a great winter break & have kicked off the Spring semester strong! We have a few updates to get this year started…

Our FIRST general body meeting of this semester will be Tuesday 2/7 @ 7 pm via Zoom 🍎

Our guest speaker will be Tammy Randall MS, RDN, LD, FAND. She is the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND)'s Speaker of the House of Delegates. This is a GREAT professional opportunity to support the Dietetics profession 🥸 We hope to see you there!  Opening up Monday 1/31 will be applications for the 2022 - 2023 Executive Board. Prior SDA involvement is preferred but not necessary. Application instructions will be sent out in the next week! The most recent email details what each position is we are looking for 📚

And finally, we have a volunteer opportunity with The Ohio Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (OAND) Voting Recruitment 🍉OAND needs student help to send out emails to inform members to vote in the National and State Academy elections, along with sharing information on their annual conference and Sponsor a Student Initiative program (SASI)

🍎 Meet Your Exec Board! 🍎

The first half of our Sophomore Representative’s is Rachel Kitzmiller!
She is a 2nd year in the Coordinated Medical Dietetics program, originally from Minster, OH! Upon graduating, she hopes to pursue her Masters Degree in Nutrition + a Dietetic Internship to become an RD, working in either Clinical or Sports Nutrition. She is passionate about nutrition because what we eat directly impacts how we feel/preform in everyday life. She hopes to teach people of all ages the power of nutrition

In her free time, Rachels enjoys exploring new parks, paddle boarding, boating, and reading. Check back in this week to meet the rest of our executive board! 📚
