The wins I hear in sessions almost never involve a scale.

And most of them, my clients don't even think to mention, because nobody told them these count.

Eating lunch on a day she'd normally skip it. That one matters because skipping never holds, and she ends up eating more later and feeling out of control.

Coming back after two missed weeks instead of disappearing altogether. That one matters because most people who go quiet don't come back at all.

Ordering what she wanted at dinner and not replaying it all night. That one matters because the replay is what turns one dinner into a whole week written off.

If you've decided nothing counts unless the number moved, you're missing most of what's changing.

Share this to your story if you've had a win like this that nobody else would notice.

Still thinking about doing a detox or cleanse?
Try this instead.

Most people turn to detoxes because they want to see results or feel better. But quick fixes don't change your habits. And your eating habits are what actually move the needle.

Instead of spending your money on cleanses and detoxes that don't work, spend a few days paying attention to how you actually eat.

Two weekdays and one weekend day.
Write everything down and don't try to eat perfectly.
Then look for one realistic thing worth changing and start there.

That will give you better results than any detox will.

Most habits only come in two settings: doing it perfectly or not doing it at all.

Nobody builds a version in between ahead of time, so when a bad week hits, the habit just stops.

The fix is deciding your floor now, while things are calm. If the plan is packing lunch, the floor is one thing from home. A piece of fruit, a protein bar, anything besides buying lunch again. If the plan is cooking four nights, the floor is one dinner made at home. Small, but it still counts.

A floor week still counts as a week you didn't quit, and that's what keeps the habit alive until things settle back down.

Tough weeks happen. What you do after is what matters.

When your eating goes sideways, the instinct is to start over from scratch. But that's not what actually helps.

Before you scrap everything, take a minute to look at what went well, understand what got in the way, and pick one thing to do right now.

Not a new plan. Not a fresh start. Just one thing.

That's how you stay consistent even when the week wasn't perfect.

If diets worked, you'd only have needed one.

The plans weren't broken because you did them wrong. They were built to be temporary.

→ Cut too much too fast and hunger fights back
→ Ban your favorite foods and the countdown to quitting starts
→ End the plan and the results end with it

Weight loss that sticks doesn't come from a stricter plan. It comes from habits that don't need an end date.

Comment HABITS and I'll send you my free 52 Weekly Habits guide.

Here's what nobody tells you about dieting.

Fast results are usually the reason it doesn't last. Most people gain the weight back within a year, and that's not a discipline problem.

People who see fast results are usually doing more than just eating less. Skipping meals. Cutting out entire food groups. Barely eating some days to make the number move faster. That works, until it doesn't. Once things go back to normal, the old habits come right back too.

Instead of removing foods, look at how you're already eating and pick one thing to add in. If Friday is pizza night, keep the pizza and add a side salad. Small changes like that are the ones you keep doing.

Eating out doesn’t automatically mean the meal was a bad choice.
But a lot of people walk away feeling like it was.

Most people assume restaurant food isn’t healthy at all, so they stop thinking about balance while they’re ordering. Then the guilt shows up later, even though nothing actually went wrong.

Balanced meals aren’t about where the food came from.
They’re about whether the meal works for you.

When you’re eating out, it can help to think about how the pieces of the meal come together. A lot of restaurants already offer options you can mix and match. Sometimes balance comes from adding a side, sometimes it’s choosing a combo that feels more complete, and sometimes it’s just putting the parts together instead of overthinking it.

You don’t need restaurant rules or food guilt.
You just need a flexible way to think about meals wherever you’re eating.

👉🏾 Save this for the next time you eat out.

Sound like you? 👋🏾

Before you hit follow, here's what you're actually signing up for.

I won't ask you to give up cake or start a detox. I think kale tastes like asbestos too. We'll set goals based on what actually matters to you, and if you've got insurance through Aetna, Ambetter, Anthem BCBS, Cigna, Curative, or United Healthcare, working with me might already be covered.

If you've ever tried to fix three habits at once, you already know how this ends.

Most of my clients start there too. Three goals, a lot of motivation, and by the time we meet again they've usually managed one, and even that feels incomplete to them.

Splitting your attention three ways usually means none of the three habits gets enough of it to actually take hold. One goal, something that's genuinely important to you and not just something you think you should be doing, gets all of your attention instead of a third of it.

So if you've got three sticky notes of goals on the fridge right now, that's probably why none of them are sticking. Pick the one that matters most and start there.

Carbs tend to get blamed because they’re easy to point to.
In reality, it’s usually the bigger picture that matters more than one food group.
