If willpower were the key to health, every CEO I know would be an Olympic athlete.

We’re taught that "grit" is the solution to every problem. But when it comes to late-night binging or chronic insomnia, grit is actually a recipe for burnout.

Why? Because willpower is a conscious resource (5% of your brain). Your habits are subconscious (95%). When you’re stressed after a long day in the Gables, your 5% is exhausted, and your 95% "Survival Code" takes over.
