First Day of School Pictures ❤️😭

Gianni is in 5th grade and Nico is in the 7th grade! Can’t believe it.

We are going into this new school year a little different. Gianni will continue homeschooling with me, while Nico will be off to school for the first time since his TK year. 🥲 This was a long time coming but also last minute. We’ve always told them if they ever wanted to try it we would figure out a good match and try and make that happen.

A couple years ago Nico expressed some interest in school. We applied super late to a small local Christian school but there was no space there. We were put on a waitlist. Everything happens for a reason though and I’m so glad that didn’t work out. Right after that we found an outdoor program he has been loving and thriving at a couple days a week for the past couple of years as we continued to homeschool. It was the perfect balance for us. 3 days with me and 2 days at the outdoor program. Gianni has also been doing it. It’s been a blessing. Then this year we prayed about it and last minute applied Nico at a different small local private school that teaches a holistic approach to learning and I felt would be a really good fit for him and he got in! It all happened so fast! I still can’t believe he’s in school. But we were so happy for him and he is loving his new school. Needless to say our schedules have changed a bit and we are still getting used to this new season.

Pics of Gianni at home and me dropping Nico off to his first day. 🥲

Thank you to .river.academy for their help with the application process to the new school Nico is at. We have been with them over the past few years and I booked a consultation with them to help with transcripts and other things we needed for this. Highly recommend having them as your umbrella school if you homeschool. We will be continuing to use them for Gianni as we homeschool this year and look forward to sharing our journey ahead. ❤️

If you are interested in .river.academy feel free to reach out to them via their website for a free 15min consultation. I also have a discount code for you! Use code JC40 for $40 off your first year of enrollment.

Have a great year!

California Love ❤️ part 3

“Though I do not believe that a plant will spring up where no seed has been, I have great faith in a seed... Convince me that you have a seed there, and I am prepared to expect wonders.”

Henry David Thoreau

Went to Rogers Garden for the first time and loved it SO much!! I just love plants and could walk around for hours there. Had lunch at the restaurant there too with my neice and nephew. Took a few nature walks in Sierra Madre and at the El Dorado Nature Center with the fam. Love nature so much. 😍😍😍 We also spent some time with my family at Belmont Shores which is always a great time. Loved our time together.

California Love ❤️ part 1

After Europe we spent a couple weeks visiting family in Cali. Some highlights: Dodger game fun. Gianni got to go to church camp for the first time which he had such a blast at. 🙏🏽🙌🏽 Nico got to go to raging waters for the first time thanks to his Auntie Athena, baby shower fun, and got to spend some quality time with the fam and a couple friends. ❤️ There’s never enough time to see everyone and spend all the time we want but cherish the times we do we have.

Memories from Rome, Italy 🇮🇹 part 2

Colosseum, Roman Forum, St. Peter’s Basilica, Tour of The Vatican museum, Sistine Chapel, Piazza del Popolo, Piazza Navona, lots of walking, churches and monuments. So much to see and do. We loved Rome so much! Such a great way to end our time in Europe. We will prayerfully be back in a few years!!! 😍😍🙏🏽 Love you Italy! 🇮🇹 Ciao for now!

Memories from Rome ❤️🇮🇹 Part 1

Our last stop in Europe. 🥲 We spent 3 nights here and really made the most of it doing any and everything we could. By the time we got here my journal went out the window 😂 but some of the things I remember we did are

Trestevare, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Mamertime Prison, Babington’s Tea Room, Spanish Steps, Castel Sant’Angelo.

My favorite little area was trstevate!! It’s sooo cute!! And was such a special treat to find the tea room right next to the Spanish steps. I went twice I just loved it SO much!! Has been around since 1893! Love the cobblestone streets and history here. ❤️

One of the darkest and most bizarre places to visit in Rome is the Carcere Mamertino, or the Mamertine prison. This was the old prison of Rome and was next to the Roman Forum.

According to legend, the apostles Peter and Paul were also imprisoned in this prison, although there is no real evidence for this. From this prison they started their journey to martyrdom: Peter towards the Circus of Nero, near the Vatican, and Paul towards the Aquae Salviae. In memory, a small altar has been placed in the Carcer to commemorate Peter (St. Peter).

Last little bit of Godo fun ❤️ Getting to take the boys to the field where dad played baseball. Tour de France. Pool time. Hangs with the fam and friends. We had the best food on our entire trip here. Loved our visit and was sad to see our time here end. 🥲

Happy 13th Birthday Nico!! You are officially a Teen!! Wow! Can’t believe I have a teenager. Seems like just yesterday you were born. 😭 Some of the things you love are music, games, reading, boogie boarding, cliff jumping into the ocean, and watching I love Lucy. Your favorite subject is still math and you can’t keep your hands off books. You are such a big teddy bear and I’m so thankful to have you as a son. We love you so much and we look forward to continuing to watch you learn, grow and blossom.

Thought I’d do a countdown from your first birthday to now. Starting with 13 and counting down. Love you buddy. 😭😭😭

Rimini, Italy to watch the Tour de France 😍

What a cool experience! Grandpa really desired to watch this race so we all went to make that happen. We woke up early and drove to Rimini from Godo and spent the day at the beach. The race was happening right next to the beach so as the racers got closer we found a good spot towards the end of the race and just in front of the big screen to watch the bikers pass by. We stood for a couple hours in the hot sun, but the thrill we got when the bikers passed was worth it! The energy of the crowd was amazing and it was a great time. The boys loved so much and what a memorable experience it eas for us all.
