Even Faryn says “why can’t you work out”?

Just kidding, I have to plan around a time that she may nap for longer 10 minutes. She is a busy 7 week old girl, EBF. So either we go on walks, or I find 20 minutes to squeeze one in.

You can still get in a GREAT WORKOUT in 20minutes if you give it your all! No one says you need 1-2 hours of workout time. If you have it to give then GREAT! I personally love 45-60minutes but my life has changed for this period of my life and that’s okay! I do what I can get in, but I make it happen. Even if she is in a baby carrier!

Woman you gotta prioritize you at some point! I know you have 20minutes somewhere in your day… go check your screen time on your phone… go on… I’ll wait…

If you want/need guidance to reach your goals in 20-30minutes workouts 3-4x a week I’m your coach! I’m realistic, I have a husband, newborn, 15 year old, 2 dogs and run a business and take care of my home. I know busy.

Let’s reach your goals together! I have plenty of room to add women to my online roster!

I met this woman shortly after starting my business in 2021. We had only a few sessions, and she had got a home workout plan from me. Then life happened and we both got busy and we lost contact and then out of the blue I receive this text a couple nights ago! 🫶🏼

Years later and I’m still in the back of everyone’s mind! I love this, I love that so many women come back to this!

This woman looks AMAZING btw! I wish I could show the photos!

Let’s talk pregnancy & postpartum fitness…
*Post-Partum talk will come in another post, this one is long enough 🤣*

This is the current season I’m in so I’m gonna post about a few things regarding that!

It’s officially outdated information that “women shouldn’t workout if they are pregnant, or not to start working out if you haven’t been prior”
✂️ cut that out!
Working out while pregnant is VERY BENEFICIAL for not only mom, but baby as well! You can even start a workout regimen even if you didn’t workout prior to being pregnant. ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️

✨Nervous system development:

Babies born to moms who exercise during pregnancy tend to show more mature autonomic nervous system function after birth. This includes improved heart rate variability and better stress regulation—which plays a role in sleep, emotional regulation, and overall resilience as they grow.

✨ Placental efficiency + oxygen delivery:

Strength training improves maternal blood flow and vascular health, which supports a more efficient placenta. A healthier placenta means better oxygen and nutrient delivery—influencing baby’s cardiovascular and metabolic development beyond the womb.

✨ Healthier body composition later in childhood:

Maternal exercise is associated with improved insulin sensitivity and healthier fat-to-lean mass ratios in children. This can lower the risk of excess fat mass and metabolic dysfunction as kids grow. 🤯

✨ Epigenetic influence:

Exercise during pregnancy can influence epigenetic markers related to metabolism, inflammation, and stress response. This doesn’t change DNA—it changes how genes are expressed and used, potentially impacting long-term health outcomes.

✨ Brain development + cognition:

Emerging research links prenatal exercise to improved neurodevelopment, attention, executive function, and learning capacity in childhood. This is thought to be related to healthier nervous system maturation, increased cerebral blood flow, and higher levels of brain-supportive growth factors.

15 days postpartum… let’s talk about it!

The science actually supports early, progressive movement after an uncomplicated birth.

I in fact had an uncomplicated pregnancy and birth! Pregnancy beautiful, no BP issues, maintained the same weight throughout, labs beautiful, no gestational diabetes, it was PERFECT! Delivery even better. Seven hours active labor, epidural only, no Pitocin, ONE SINGULAR CONTRACTION 3 small pushes and she was here, along with ZERO tearing!

Let’s remember a couple of things:
Every woman’s journey and pregnancy and postpartum look different.
I am working out now to “prove” something, or to “bounce back” I am literally healing from the inside out. This is the best way to do so. Let’s also remember that I was not sedentary my entire pregnancy…
I feel AMAZING, I’m still taking it slow, I’m still listening to my body but it’s the best thing I can do for myself. I have been walking or doing some sort of movement since I got home. I have researched long before I had Faryn on this topic.
Faryn is also awesome and a great sleeper, so I am not running on fumes during the day.

Now let’s talk about movement and the recommendations postpartum:

🩷 The current recommendations

Organizations like the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) no longer recommend waiting a blanket six weeks before exercising.

Instead, they recommend that women with an uncomplicated pregnancy and birth resume physical activity as soon as it feels medically safe, increasing gradually and based on symptoms. The postpartum visit is meant to be an ongoing process, not a “permission slip” to suddenly start exercising.

🩷Why movement is beneficial

When done appropriately, early postpartum exercise has been associated with:

* Improved circulation (which may reduce blood clot risk).
* Better mood and lower risk of postpartum depression.
* Improved energy.
* Reduced back pain and stiffness.
* Better sleep quality (when you can actually get sleep 😂).
* Improved cardiovascular fitness.
* Gradual return of muscular endurance.
* Better long-term pelvic floor function when paired with appropriate breathing and core work.

🩷The biggest misconception people often think:

“If you exercise early, you’ll damage your pelvic floor.”

The evidence doesn’t support that as a blanket statement. EXCESSIVE loading too soon can absolutely cause problems, but appropriately progressed exercise in women who are healing well has not been shown to be inherently harmful. The key is listening to symptoms and progressing gradually.

4 Key Staples you need in your journey…

1. SLEEP
2. GETTING OUTSIDE psst… the sun is healing…
3. LESS cardio, MORE weights
4. PROTEIN

PERIOD 💅

1. Get as much sleep as you can, anytime you can nap the better, more than 4 hours sleep at night (does not include new mothers obviously) sleep is when your body repairs itself, and muscles grow…

2. Let’s be real no one gets out enough. Go just sit outside for 15-20 minutes a day. Eat outside on your lunch break, but get out there. It will do the mind good too!

3. The more muscle you have the better longevity you will have, the longer you will live. Having muscles is not only cool 😎 but it truly benefits you in this life. Do enough cardio for your heart and some for fat loss, but cardio and Pilates are not enough.

4. Protein, protein, protein. PERIOD. Real protein, real food. Not all the processed s**t. Shakes and bar are fine but not for multiple “meals” eat your meat; beef, chicken, fish,IDC just eat it.
