For years, I helped people with thinning hair make their hair look and feel fuller. And while I still believe a great haircut can make a world of difference, my passion today goes much deeper than that.

I want to understand why your hair is thinning or changing in the first place. Because covering up hair loss and understanding what's causing it are two very different things.

My goal is to help you get answers, identify what may be contributing to your hair loss, and create a plan that supports healthier hair and scalp health for the long term.

If you're noticing thinning, excessive shedding, or changes in your scalp, I'd love to help you understand what's going on.

A little refresh in the trichology office to celebrate a pretty big transition. 🤍

After 36 years behind the chair, I officially stepped away from doing hair this month to focus completely on trichology and Root Revival Hair Restoration.

It’s definitely a bittersweet change, but I’m really excited about this next chapter and having the time to focus fully on helping people understand what is happening with their hair and scalp and what we can do to support it.

So, of course, the office needed a little refresh too. 😊

Here’s to new chapters, continued growth, and doing more of what I truly love. 🌿

I’ve made a big change at Root Revival, and I couldn’t be more excited about where I’m headed.

After more than 35 years behind the chair, I am no longer offering hair services. Root Revival is now completely focused on trichology, hair loss, scalp health, and hair restoration.

This wasn’t a decision I made because I stopped loving doing hair. I made it because I know where I’m supposed to be.

Over the past several years, my work has evolved tremendously. My days are now spent helping people understand why their hair is changing, evaluating the hair and scalp, reviewing testing, researching complicated cases, collaborating with medical professionals, and creating individualized plans for people struggling with hair loss and scalp concerns.

And I absolutely love it.

In order to give this work the time and attention it deserves, I had to make a choice. Trying to continue doing both was no longer an option for me.

So this chapter is officially closed.

I know some of my longtime hair clients have asked if I might still do their hair occasionally or make an exception. As much as I love you, the answer has to be no. If I start making exceptions, I haven't really made the change.

And I am ready for this change.

I’m incredibly grateful for every person who sat in my chair over the years. Being a hairstylist was such a huge part of my life and ultimately helped lead me to the work I’m doing today.

Now I get to take everything I’ve learned about hair throughout my career and combine it with trichology to help people in an entirely different way.

Root Revival Hair Restoration is officially 100% trichology.

And I am so excited for what comes next. ❤️

I did send an email out last week....please check your spam. Please do not hesitate to reach out via text or email if you have any questions or concerns.

When it comes to hair loss, more testing is not always better. The right testing is what matters.

Sometimes a Hair & Scalp Evaluation gives me a clear enough picture that we know how to move forward. Other times, what I see makes me want more information before recommending a plan.

The photo I’m sharing with this post is a great example of why testing can matter. This client had already been using topical minoxidil but wasn’t seeing the success she had hoped for. Her testing gave us additional information that helped explain why minoxidil may not have been the best option for her.

Imagine continuing to use the same treatment month after month and simply assuming you need to give it more time.

This is the type of information that keeps us from guessing. It allows us to make more informed decisions and create a plan that is more likely to give that individual client the best opportunity for optimal results.

Depending on what I find during an evaluation, I may recommend blood work, DNA Hair Testing, Epigenetic Hair Testing, or additional medical evaluation. I also use Tricho Scan imaging and polarized microscopy to look closely at what is happening with the hair and scalp.

None of these tools gives us every answer on its own. They are pieces of a much bigger picture that includes your health history, timeline, scalp health, clinical findings, and goals.

I don’t believe everyone needs every test, just like I don’t believe everyone needs the same treatment. If I recommend additional testing, there should be a reason for it and an understanding of how that information could help us make better decisions.

If you’re in Suwanee, Georgia and looking for answers about hair loss, thinning, or excessive shedding, Root Revival Hair Restoration is located nearby in Cu***ng.

Assess and test, not guess.

Hair loss is rarely “just hair.”
When Amanda first came to me, she was dealing with scalp inflammation, loss of density, and enough visible scalp that she felt embarrassed wearing her hair up or even changing where she parted it.
We worked on improving her scalp health and supporting hair growth through a personalized hair restoration plan.
Today, she says she sees significantly more coverage and no longer feels embarrassed to pull her hair back or wear it parted.
That part means everything to me.
Hair restoration isn’t only about what we can see in a photograph. It’s about helping someone understand what is happening with their hair and scalp, addressing the factors we can address, and hopefully getting them back to a place where they feel comfortable and confident with their hair again.
Thank you, Amanda, for trusting me and for sharing your experience.

To read her whole experience and see before and after photos check out our google business page.

You can be losing hair density without ever seeing handfuls of hair come out.
This is something I hear all the time.
“I’m really not shedding that much, but my hair is definitely thinner.”
Shedding and thinning are not necessarily the same thing.
With increased shedding, you may notice more hair in the shower, your brush, or on your clothes.
Gradual loss of density can be much quieter. Your part may slowly get wider. Your ponytail may feel smaller. You may see more scalp. Individual hairs may become finer, or follicles that once produced multiple hairs may begin producing fewer.
Because these changes can happen slowly, they’re easy to miss until one day you realize your hair just isn’t as full as it used to be.
This is exactly why I measure hair density, hairs per follicle, hair thickness and other changes during a Hair & Scalp Evaluation. What we can measure gives us a baseline so we can see what is actually happening over time.
Progress should be measured, not assumed.
