I won’t waste any time, so let’s dive right in. I’ve been 100% checked out since July.
I lost my Dad, he passed away on July 5, 2022. He fought a long, hard battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis, longer than anyone could have expected and sadly that battle came to an end. He never gave up, it was his lungs that did.
He had been sick since December 2021 and we were fighting to get him listed for a lung transplant, unfortunately time sometimes isn’t on our side.
The last year has been incredibly difficult for me and my family.
It began in September 2021 when we lost our dog Cali unexpectedly, our youngest of two Dogue de Bordeaux’s – not dogs, but family members.
That December, my dad fell ill with pneumonia and spent the next two months in the hospital. His life permanently changed because the pneumonia exacerbated his Pulmonary Fibrosis. He was the youngest 72-year-old I have ever known and not a single medical condition other than bad lungs. He had his mind, his wits and his crazy sense of humor all intact and he was fighting an incredible battle.
Losing my father broke me. Until this past year, my whole entire life has been smooth sailing. I was in the hardest time of my life and my “Move with Missy mojo” was gone.
About the time we thought we had disembarked the sadness train, our dog Lucy becomes ill in the middle of the night, and we lost her on August 15, 2022.
Move with Missy was an idea I had while sitting at home during the 2020 pandemic. It became a reality in 2021 and who knows what it will become.
For now, I’m focused on keeping up with my daily habit of moving, taking care of myself, my mom and my family. I don’t know if I will jump back in the social media schedule like I had been. I’m currently on the “non-plan plan” and I kind of like it.
Who knows, maybe one day I’ll edit and share the hundreds of videos living inside my phone.
Until then, if I can give you 5 tips, here they are:
- Prioritize Sleep
- Prioritize Protein
- Prioritize Water Intake
- Move your body daily, or almost daily
- Never let anyone tell you that you don’t have to do cardio. Do you need it to lose weight, NO. Does your heart need it, YES!
