Water bath canning is one of the simplest and most beginner-friendly ways to start preserving food, and there’s a reason it’s been used for generations 🤍
Here’s how it works:
You fill clean jars with prepared food,
The jars go into a pot of boiling water, fully submerged, and are processed for a set amount of time. That steady boil pushes air out of the jars, heats the food all the way through, and when the jars cool, they seal naturally.
Why it’s perfect for beginners
• No pressure canner required, just a large pot
• Easy to see what’s happening the entire time
• Builds confidence without feeling overwhelming
Water bath canning isn’t about rushing or cutting corners. It’s about understanding the process, and letting science do what it’s meant to do.
If you’re new to canning and feeling nervous, this is the best place to start.
Canning doesn’t have to be intimidating.
