Being part of conversations that reduce stigma around mental health is something I deeply value đź’š
These moments remind me why I do this work and continue to keep me grounded and inspired.
If you’ve been thinking about taking that step, this is your sign — you don’t have to do it alone.

On April 8th, we had the privilege of co-hosting the South Texas Community Mental Health Forum at UTRGV, and what an incredible evening it was.
This forum marked the first in our new quarterly series, and we could not be more energized to continue the conversation throughout the year. The discussion centered on managing anxiety and depression, two challenges that touch so many lives across our community. Through open dialogue and shared experiences, we were able to shine a light on these important topics and the resources available for support.
We are deeply grateful to every community member who showed up, engaged, and demonstrated a shared commitment to mental health awareness. Your presence made all the difference.
A special thank you to our panelists for sharing their time, expertise, and powerful insights:
Dr. John Lusins, South Texas Mental Health Associates
Dr. Enedina Enriquez, Kindred Spirit Latino Center for Grief and Loss
Dr. Hector Garza, Premier Valley Health
Nellie Cano, Cano Counseling Services
Leticia Sosa, South Texas Health Systems
Pastor Jessica Cabrera, South Texas Equality Project
Officer Jacklyn Rodriguez, City of Pharr Police Department Mental Health Unit
Thank you to UTRGV for hosting us at the CESS Building and to the Texas Healthcare Alliance Chamber of Commerce for helping bring our community together.
If you or someone you know is ready to take the next step toward mental health support, we are here.
