Curly haired people this one is for you. It took me until my mid 30’s to find hair products that gave me predictably good curls AND was completely non-toxic. Both of those categories should be equally as important because we are weighing down these incredible bodies of ours with toxic chemicals on the regular. Unfortunately we have seen a few companies specializing in hair care that advertise themselves as clean, but are far from it (ahem-looking at you Monat). As 2 curly haired women, Vanessa and I both love the moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, followed up with I Create Lift then I Create Hold to give us nicely formed, clean curls (I also love Quiet Calm Curl Control). Essential oils are not just for your home. They can replace the hormone disruptors in your perfume as well, giving you a beautiful scent WITH therapeutic benefits. To make your own perfume roller, buy any size glass roller bottle, fill with organic carrier oil (we love fractionated coconut), and add a few drops of your favorite EO(s). They make great party favors and gifts as well. Especially if you can customize the benefit of the oil to the receiver (like Joy blend for a friend who’s been down lately! It smells heavenly and also helps regulate emotions)🌸 We would love to hear your favorite oils that you use as perfume!

This is an easy way to start detoxing your products. Flip over that bottle and scan the ingredients. If you see the word 🚫FRAGRANCE/PARFUM🚫 know it’s time swap that particular product out. This word is basically a catch all for over 4,000 different types of chemicals that are carcinogens, allergens, and hormone disrupters. And they don’t have to list what they are because it’s a “trade secret.” So next time you buy lotion, shampoo, conditioner, soap, laundry detergent, dish soap, perfumes, lip gloss, candles (because it’s in everything), keep an eye out for this word!
