For a long time, I wore “being the strong one” like a badge of honor.

I could handle anything.

I rarely asked for help.

I took care of everyone else before I took care of myself.

What I didn’t realize was that my strength was also protecting me.

Receiving love, support, or care felt unfamiliar... and what feels unfamiliar can feel unsafe.

Healing didn’t make me weaker.

It taught me that I don’t have to earn love by over-functioning, over-giving, or carrying everything on my own.

Maybe this is your reminder today:

You can be incredibly capable and allow yourself to be cared for.

Those two things can exist together. 🤍

If this resonates, send it to the strong woman in your life who always carries everyone else.

If you’re the “strong one,” this is your reminder.
The role that once protected you...
may now be the very thing keeping you exhausted.

Being capable is a gift.
Believing you have to carry everything by yourself is not.

You don’t have to earn rest.
You don’t have to prove your worth through productivity.
And you don’t have to be the emotional manager in every relationship.

Sometimes healing looks like letting someone else carry the weight for a while.

🤍 If this one hit home, save it for the days you need the reminder.

Maybe every relationship leaves you feeling abandoned.

Maybe you always feel like you’re doing all the work.

Maybe the second someone gets too close, you suddenly want space.

Or maybe you’re constantly wondering...
“Do they still love me?”

Most people think these are personality traits.

They’re usually attachment patterns.

And once you understand them, your relationships start making a whole lot more sense.

Comment STYLES below and I’ll send you a video that explains the different attachment styles and how they can show up in your life.

Safety is the environment where trust grows.

For years I thought the answer was learning better communication skills.

And while those matter, I’ve realized something...
Communication is difficult when your body is in protection mode.

When we don’t feel safe, we defend ourselves.
We withdraw.
We people-please.
We over-explain.

Not because we don’t care, but because our nervous system is trying to protect us.

What if the next hard conversation in your relationship didn’t start with trying to communicate better...
What if it started with creating a little more safety?

I’d love to hear your thoughts. Have you ever noticed how much easier it is to open up when you truly feel safe with someone?
