For a long time, I wore “being the strong one” like a badge of honor.
I could handle anything.
I rarely asked for help.
I took care of everyone else before I took care of myself.
What I didn’t realize was that my strength was also protecting me.
Receiving love, support, or care felt unfamiliar... and what feels unfamiliar can feel unsafe.
Healing didn’t make me weaker.
It taught me that I don’t have to earn love by over-functioning, over-giving, or carrying everything on my own.
Maybe this is your reminder today:
You can be incredibly capable and allow yourself to be cared for.
Those two things can exist together. 🤍
If this resonates, send it to the strong woman in your life who always carries everyone else.
