Abby D shares some more wisdom as her social media takeover continues!!

We all have vulnerability factors that can make stress harder to manage. 💙 The goal isn’t perfection—it’s noticing what affects you and choosing one small step to support yourself.

✨ What matters most to you?

Our values help us make decisions, recognize what’s out of balance, understand our needs, and set boundaries.

But here’s the plot twist: values take practice — including practicing valuing ourselves. 💙

What’s one value you want to practice a little more this week?

💙 What if your strengths could become part of your coping skills?

**Abby D. has taken over!**

When we think about strengths, we often think about things we're good at. But strengths can also be the things we enjoy, the things that restore us, and the things that help us feel confident, connected, curious, or capable.

Maybe your strengths are creativity, compassion, problem-solving, connection, courage, setting boundaries, curiosity, or simply knowing when you need to pause.

Now think about what activities bring those strengths to life — creating, walking, reading, spending time with people you love, being outdoors, caring for your pets, volunteering, listening to music, solving puzzles, or simply enjoying a cup of tea.

✨ Then combine that strength with a grounding exercise or breathing technique.

When we build self-care and emotional regulation around strengths we already have, we're not starting from scratch. We're building on what we're already capable of.

What’s one of your strengths that you could turn into a coping tool this week? 💭

Need help identifying your strengths - give us a call! 972-439-5297

✨ Team Member Takeover!✨

This week, our 246 Counseling social media is being taken over by Abby Davidson, LPC-Associate, supervised by Jennifer Smith, LPC-S! 💙

Abby is an EMDR-trained therapist who loves working with clients who are interested in EMDR and has a special place in her heart for neurodivergent clients. She brings curiosity, compassion, and a genuine desire to help clients better understand themselves into the therapy room.

A few fun facts about Abby:

⚡ Harry Potter fan — enough said. 🪄
🐶 She is pictured here with her Great Dane, Olo, who we are pretty sure is the real star of the photo.
🌧️ She loves rainy weather and is more than ready for cooler temperatures. (Texas summer, we're looking at you. 👀)
☕ She does not drink coffee, which has caused the rest of the 246 team to seriously question whether we can trust her. 😂
🥤 She does enjoy a good Dr Pepper

Follow along this week as Abby takes over our social media and gives you a little peek into her world and her work as a therapist! 💙

Say hi to Abby in the comments! 👋
